Advantages: More money for the government.

Disadvantages: Smoking seriously damages your health.

As most people know cannabis can help people with diseases such as M.S. What I would do if I was in government, is decriminalise it, may be not for the general public but on a prescription only basis first, as a kind of trial. If the trial works, maybe extend the programme until it become totally legal; any way aren't we a humane society and if something is proven to help, why shouldn't it.

If cannabis was legalised surely it would help it the fight against crime, and the number of people smuggling cannabis will, or should, go down.

Also if the government taxed cannabis, it could make quite a bit of money and the fuel prices could go down or the NHS could get better.
