Advantages: none
Disadvantages: killing our loved ones
Yes i think that cannabis, and all drugs should be legalised. But....All users, should be banned from driving, and holding responsible jobs.as they can put their own lives at risk, and execise their human rights, but not at the expense of other peoples lives and human rights. And random checks should be law to make sure we are all drug free when driving. As a professional driver,i see so many deaths on the roads, from all kinds of people, from all walks of life. The guy who fell asleep, the one who reached for a sweet, the idiot on a mobile phone, the drunk, the drug addict, its endless the way we treat other people in the quest for "our rights" is dreadful. I have never taken drugs, wouldnt know cannabis,if it jumped up and bit me on the bum. I want to have the right to live my life, drive my artic, throughout my daily job, safetly, and have the right to travel safely in my daily tasks. And for my family to be safe from people under the influence of whatever they are on. So my point is..if people want to kill themselves by taking drugs.Let them! But the right to drive and take innocent peoples lives along with them is not their right. A drug taker, should not be allowed to drive on our roads,as they cannot be in control of their vehicles,so if they exercise the right to take druge,we exercise our rights to make them walk and take public transport,to keep us normal non drug taking people safe. My brother is a drug addict and its heartbreaking for us who watch. Also legalissing it would make the dealers do real jobs.

aefra - 07/06/02 I agree with your points, although I don't know how we would detect it before that fatal accident. I do so sympathise that your brother has this problem. I know only too well the sorrow of a family when a member is a drug addict. A good friend of mine has a daughter in this situation. She comes from an honest and caring family. Yet, despite "treatment", she is now in prison for the 'nth time as a result of criminally trying to feed her habit. I also suspect that the violence of her mood swings would still have her there if her drugs were legal. Yet when the police were informed of the names and addresses of the dealers nothing was done. The frustration is endless. Valerie |
