Advantages: A CON
Disadvantages: A CON
It’s an age old question which I believe can only be answered by the ‘exposed’- by this I would like to think people that are somewhat experienced in its good and BAD sides. It’s a taboo subject and I bet few would admit openly to having been with a ‘whore’ (for want of a better term)! The fact is that money was ‘invented’ by its very concept - generations ago prior to the Romans (B.C) and to this day the monetary value of services remain virtually equivalent. It’s the very essence of supply and demand! Everyone is perceptually aware of the evil side of prostitution - the pimps, the beatings, the drugs, the health risks, the corruptive element of crime itself in our society, but few are aware of the kind of money that can change hands and the glamorous existence of some playgirls and the hardened hearts and good times they themselves can experience. The fact is that very few prostitutes practice unsafe sex anyway, and they do take every precaution to ‘protect’ their true identity. The girls that have the guts to do it properly are the ‘true’ prostitutes today and are far removed from the ‘clip joints’ and offer value services to their clients, and are ‘loved’ by them. The girls end up with real money and they use it well by laughing at the tax man and the bigger mugs in society (you and me)? The ones that do touch drugs and look for a means to an end have no option but crime, and female or not deserve to be ‘strung up’. Contrary to popular belief prostitution in Amsterdam is NOT legal- the ‘renting of a room’ however is, and so is ‘open display’. By contrast, here in Britain we are not so Liberal, and will NOT be (yet) if only for cultural reasons alone. We can only try to follow the example of the Dutch here. Their prostitutes have blood tests ev
ery month. They are the ones that have the experience in Europe. Amsterdam’s crime rate is very low, despite the fact that the city is full of exiles and illegal immigrants. LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!!

- 18/04/01 Religion tends to boast of its martyrs; indeed it would seem throughout history, that the very seed of the church itself almost consists entirely of the blood of martyrs, but it is not the suffering, but the cause of it, that makes a martyr. Whereas it is probably better to be a martyr than a confessor, I really do believe that the ink of the scholar is more holy. It’s all very metaphorical stuff far removed from the reality of everyday life. Whereas I have no personal religious convictions, I believe that ‘God’ IS ‘love’ and that ‘love’ (God) is a creator due to the reproductive conception of children because of the relationship (hopefully ‘love’) between man and woman. |

- 17/04/01 When misfortune is deliberately set up in the guise of religion it is very hard to take such an emotionless approach like that though. I have dealt with opinions like below my whole life and have seen lives destroyed, hearts broken, emotional pain that would tear you apart all caused by power driven, tunnelled visioned, religious fanatics with God like Ego's. Misfortune I can cope with, this is another concept entirely. |

- 16/04/01 Many thanks Rachel. It’s all about provoking ‘food for thought’. I’m not sure if true ‘originality’ exists, but am sure that people change and that throughout their lives they are subjected either willingly or not to many factors that influence them and ultimately their beliefs. Remember, misfortune is not that which can be avoided, but that which cannot. |
