Light (en) Up (Should smoking be banned in public places?)
Advantages: None only cause more uproar Disadvantages: loss of freedom of choice Yes... i am a smoker so i am against the ban HOWEVER i do sympathise with non smokers as some of my friends are and they do occasionally ask me not to light up next to them so i dont. to be honest smokers have all the same rights as non smokers we pay our taxes on cigarettes which goes to the government etc. cuttin down or even stopping smoking completly is honestly a BIG mistake.... cigarette companies will go bust causing thousands of innocent people to loose their jobs making them go on the doll.. taxes will go up because of the tax on cigarettes will decrease. pubs and clubs will loose huge amounts of profits half the population will be happy half wont one side wont get their way and will still cause problems.. its a catch 22 theres no win win situation its all or nothing someones not gonna be happy which ever way it goes. people have been smoking for years (going back to christopher columbus) why now all of a sudden have we decided its bad for us??? i think their should be allocated places making a compromise is alot simpler than tryin to stop something that has been happening for years.... driving with mobile phones is ILLEGAL but everyone still does it and doesnt have full attention wen they are driving and could cause someone their life!.. smoking is NOT illegal so it isnt a crime.... yet Summary: its a catch 22 nothings ever going be good enough |
