Advantages: Better health, less passive smoking
Disadvantages: The fag companies will loose out
Smoking is like suicide, it's one of them things people do to look good, for the addiction, for the buzz, yet they do it all and kill them selves with it.
At one point I hated going to the pub for dinner, cuz you got chocked my the smoke, I also over heard a group of smoker talking about the ban, just before it came in, and they were saying that is all they use the pub for, which really annoyed me, why could't they smoke at home or out side, they had came to the pub just to smoke and make everyone else choke.
Smoking then got banned down stairs on most buses, then the whole bus, but it didn't stop people.
When the dicission was made about the ban I was watching the television while they discussed it, and saw that moment the no smoking sign came on screen when they made their dicission.
Now its great in pubs as I never choke, but people still smoke on buses and also standing right outside shops and things, when they should be 1.5 metres away.
I recently went to Spain and in the pubs its horrible and full of smoke, so I am glad o be british with the Smoking ban.
Yes think smoking should be like walking around naked, so you can not smoke anywhere public at all.
Summary: I think smoking should be illigal in the UK

- 02/11/08 Smokers pay a lot in taxes - I rather suspect that if smoking was banned completely we would all end up paying more in one way or another! |

- 02/11/08 I, as a smoker, understand your point of view but I think banning it from outside areas is a step too far. |
