Should smoking be banned in public places?

Advantages: live longer, smell better , save money

Disadvantages: none

Of course smoking in public places should be banned

Why should I have to breathe the crud from someone elses grotty lungs?

The other point , which seems to be missed is the fact that some people think that it is their "god given right" to nip out for a smoke every ten minutes!

Does this mean that all the non-smokers can take a couple of hours off each day for a fresh air break?

Of course not, after all the smokers choose to smoke, to waste an absolute fortune on fags (over £5 per pack) and to stink the place out !

The biggest joke is to go and look at the entrance to your local hospital and see a bunch of smokers coughing, spitting and puffing away on their cancer sticks.

The people there are not all patients though, they are doctors and nurses too!

So, the ban stays, but some folk will never give up the weed, it's your choice and obviously YOUR FUNERAL good luck

Summary: keep the ban

I think you have made some valid points from a non smoker’s point of view but maybe you could have worded it a bit more diplomatically as it seems to come accross ad more of an attack on smokers x

A very strong view, as a smoker I do feel offended for being generalised as grotty. We are meant to live in a democracy, I think we need to think of everyone ie a smoking bar for people who want to smoke and a bar for non smokers.

Instead of non smokers just constantly attacking smokers. There's no point it won't change anything.

Also you presume that smokers think they are high and mighty, it is an addiction not a personality trait. try and give up something forever that makes you feel good. It is very hard!

I don't agree with smokers smoking near non smokers or smoking in resturaunts. Try not to attack people so much, ya

Be happy x
