Should smoking be banned in public places?

Advantages: Less smoke in the atmosphere

Disadvantages: More annoyed people that will need another fag to calm down

When they thought of that title I bet they were sitting in a restaurant trying to eat their dinner with some ignorant person behind them waving a lit fag around. I do not smoke and do not have a problem with others smoking in public places. Believe me when I go out with my mates anyone would think that the smog had returned to London.

Most people are considerate when they smoke at a table. The ones that Bug me are the ones that don't seem to smoke, just hold the cigarette in such a place so that it blows in your direction.

When I am out having a meal I do feel sorry for the hardened smoker who has to get up in-between and sometimes during the courses to pop out into the cold to have a few drags on their escape from restriction. How can you have pubs where people cannot smoke as well.

It is getting to the stage that places of relaxation; Pubs, Restaurants; Cabs; Train stations are all persecuting smokers from something that they enjoy. Most of these places have enough ventilation to allow the smoke to disappear so why not let people live their lives. If someone blows smoke in your eyes tell them to stop. If someone wants to stand in a pub and have a drink and a fag, don't stand next to them.

Most of the time the restriction of actions is by a doo gooder (nothing to do with Dooyoo thank goodness) that is trying to tell people what they think you want. If people want it that badly I am sure there are places that will continue to stop smokers from smoking. If I had the choice I would like to ban people from talking loudly in public places purely because they want everyone to think they are wonderful.

Hah! Like Grimsbygal - I want to be able to breathe. Is that too much to ask? Smoking doesn't do anyone any good except the tobacco companies. Good op though!

I feel you have done the old song an injustice....the lyric is...When your heart's on fire, Smoke Gets in your eyes.

You obviously haven't read my opinion on the matter. i am not against smokers, i just want to enjoy a night out without having to go home unable to breathe after an asthma attack. Good Op.
