Advantages: great coverage
Disadvantages: monthly fee
The king of sporting coverage on tv? id like to think so!
Skys coverage of sport is second to none. Yes, you have to pay a monthly fee for it, but trust me, if you like you sport, you will love their coverage of it .
The have 5 standard channels for you to choose from, these are:
Sky Sports 1
Sky Sports 2
Sky Sports 3
Sky Sports Xtra
Sky Sports news
There are also a few HD channels which again there is another monthly fee for you to pay, but if you like you sports and have some extra cash its worth paying for.
The sports they show are phenomenal, the likes of football, golf, rugby, cricket, poker, horse riding, fishing, skiing, aerobics (oh yes!), wrestling, watersports are just a few of the varietys they actually show us on these channels, so if your into an unusual sport im sure it will get an airing at some point.
Then the actual coverage is fantastic, they get most of the big sporting events, showing us live coverage, highlight shows, instant replays, in play betting, red button option so you can pick a different game, different commentary, the list goes on.
Then the technology they use is superb, lets take cricket for example, they have hawkeye, showing us where the ball would of traveled and they can also show us, where each batsmen has hit each ball, where each bowler has balled each bowl and to which bowler, the speed of which the ball travelled. its outstanding, we take it for granted these days, but it really is special what they can show us.
Their pundits and presenters are very good aswell, ill take cricket again, they have Sir Ian Botham, David 'Bumble' Lloyd, David Gower, Mike Atherton, Nasser Hussain, all of which give great commentary, expert views and reaction and have good interview skills aswell.
Overall, Sky Sports is the best on the market and never seem to fail us.
thank you sky!!
Summary: superb quality of coverage
