South Africa have a superb rugby team.Superb.Superb. What isn't realised by the naive public(mainly within the Northern Hemisphere, fuelled by incompetent and totally biased comentators such as Stuart Barnes), is that at the the helm of a newly appointed coach and strategy, South Africa are only just beginning their rugby domination campaign. South Africas coach recently said upon appointment that he is working with a new running style of Rugby and his intention is to have a slick, oiled and extremely powerful South African side that can compete and claim the next Rugby World cup. I have read with great disbelief how South Africa are now a spent force in international rugby because they have lost 4 games in a row. I would like to point out the following: 1)It is not long since the boks equalled the record by winning 17 games in a row, including a season in which New Zealand lost 4 games in a row! 2)South Africa played badly against England trying to get to grips with the new playing system, they then were beating Australia for 67 minutes before some silly errors let the Australians walk all over them. The 2 subsequent defeats by New Zealand and Australia were very close in terms of score and the fact that South Africa lost can be ... Read the complete review

I watched Australia vs New Zealand today and it was one of the most exciting matches I have ever seen. Ten tries were scored, five by each side. The defences were broken a bit too often, but there was a huge difference in the standard of rugby compared with how England play (and now South Africa). Being a South African I am very disappointed with the way the Bokke are playing and I'm afraid to say that it looks like South Africa are going to be humiliated in the tri-nations tournament. The tackling last week against Australia was terrible and it needs to improve big time if South Africa are going to see success in the near future. p.s get Pieter ... Read the complete review

The Tri Nations the Worlds premier annual tournament kicks off this Saturday (July 15) with the Bledisoe Cup game between Australia and New Zealand. But this year’s competition is really about South Africa. Recently South African Rugby has gone from bad to worse. After a dismiss World Cup which South Africa entered as the holders, followed by a poor performance by the South African Provinces in the Super 12 and defeats in their last two test matches both played on home soil, the first to England in the two match series and the last to Australia on Sunday in the Nelson Mandela Challenge Match. It is crunch time for the Bokke. The questions have ... Read the complete review

Yes and no. South Africa is a strong force in the rugby world. No one can beat them when they are working as a team and when they have a strong captain who can lead them properly. If this can be acheived in the forthcoming games they do stand a chance. If they carry on playing the way that they have been for the last couple of matches they have no chance in this tournament. Another strong point for the team is that they have a strong will to win which usually pulls them through games, they are now playing against people who have the same will to win and need to want it more. ...
