Southampton F.C. Players

Southampton have not got any really good players and I think they will struggle this season. Below is my opinion of their best 11: Goalkeeper – Paul Jones Paul Jones is a decent goalkeeper, but I think Southampton should buy a new one as Jones is now in his 30’s and so he doesn’t have many seasons left. He is a good keeper, but he does tend to concede quite a few goals. Right Back – Claus Lundekvam Claus Lundekvam may be a defender, but that shouldn’t have stopped him from not scoring in about 200 games for the club. As a football fan I was so happy with Saints doing so well. Normally, they avoid relegation and this year they are in the top half of the Premiership. Until the Ipswich they hadn’t conceded a goal for eight matches and would have equalled Arsenal’s record of clean sheets. But, it wasn’t to be. I just hope that the Saints don’t fall into free fall. They have good players who work hard for each other and will do well for Southampton football club. They have a new stadium on the way and hopefully a new manager next season. Southampton have been doing really well this season and a lot of that success has to be down to their goalkeeper Paul Jones who has been superb this season. Paul Jones has come back from a serious injury which nearly made him retire. However he has come back better then ever and is an important player for club and country. He has all the attributes which make him a good goalkeeper. He is agile and produces world class saves on regular occasions. He is also tall which allows him to command his area.
