There are a few things that can go some way towards explaining how and why they can. Premium Review Spanish Football Clubs & Teams: Real Madrid-money masters of football (642 words)

The recent transfer activity has meant there has been alot more attention paid to the Spanish clubs and especially Real Madrid. A world record transfer fee to purchase Kaka from Ac Milan was eclipsed shortly after as Cristiano Ronaldo moved from Manchester United to Real for a new world record fee of £80 million in the space of just a few weeks. Real have since added the young French striker Karim Benzema for around a measly £30 million and are expected to add a few more players before the end of the transfer window at the end of August. This is not of course the first time Real Madrid have broken the transfer record for a player. They bought Luis Figo in 2000 and ...  Read the complete review

Last summer Real Madrid broke the world record for a transfer fee when they signed Portuguese international midfielder for arch rivals Barcelona for £41 million. This year they have gone and beaten their own record by paying Juventus £48 million for French Midfielder Zinedine Zidane Last season was a mixture for Real Madrid. They won La Liga easily, with Figo's ex team Barcelona only scraping into the champions league placing by finishing 3rd on the last day of the season. However it was a failure in the European cup, losing to eventual winners Bayer Munich, with fellow countrymen Valencia battling it out in the final. The prize money is good in the European ...  Read the complete review

Bisan-Etame Lauren now plays for Arsenal. I'm sure he will tell you how competitive and beautiful the spanish game has and still is. Arsenal bought Lauren for £7 million and he is one of the most complete footballers at a tender age of 22. He was in the same Mallorca side as Gerrard, now playing for Barcelona who is Spain's version of our own Stephen Gerrard. He has an amazing passing range but at 21, Barcelona (with all their stars), never play him. He is definitely one to look at. Diego Tristian, now part of that Deportivo side that can't play European football, but somehow manage to do well in their league, where they are currently 2nd - ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Whats going on in the national side. (233 words)

As proven last year, Spain have some of the strongest teams in Europe, so their performances at World Cup 98, and more recently Euro 2000 made me wonder whats up with the national side. The Primera Liga isn't as jam packed with foreigners as our own premiership, and the top sides like Barca, Madrid, Valencia and Deportivo can all boast several top Spanish players. Yet the Spain national side is poor. Last season the Champions League semi finals consisted of 3 Spanish sides, showing their strength, Barca, Madrid and Valencia played football to rival any in the world. Madrid were particularly brilliant (Unfortunately) on a certain night at Old ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Spanish Football Clubs & Teams: Strongest in Europe!! (139 words)

As proved by last years Champions League, Spain have the strongest sides in Europe, but this does not necessarily mean their league is best. Their league is very unpredictable, and it seems a different team wins it each year. Having three out of the 4 semi finalists in the Champions League and then both finalists is quite an achievement. I think the reason their teams are so good is because they do not care about defence and they just attack non stop, which is good football to watch. Overall, I think Spain now have the best footballing sides in Europe but the Premiership is the Best League and Italian teams perform well more consistently. I would ...  Read the complete review
