Having spent 15 minutes in a queue at traffic lights, gradually getting more and more frustrated at the prospect of being late for work, it is almost a natural reaction to put the foot down a little further than usual in a vain attempt to recapture some lost time, had you been walking and held up for some reason your legs would automatically break into half jog mode!
One of the reasons behind all this congestion on the roads is societies desire to keep up with the "Jones`" cars are becoming more and more of a fashion statement rather than utility!
Each year automotive technology excels itself furthermore producing better looking yet faster cars, even diesel engined cars are getting faster, instead of being the noisy and dirty old chuggers they always were!
Upon buying a new car and driving it for the first few times the hardest thing not to do is put your foot down and see what "the baby can do" almost everyone is guilty!
So all in all I suppose my point is!
too many cars, too much temptation to go faster and too much social pressure not to have a nice motor which fuels the aforementioned congestion and temptation!
Speeding is definately a bi product of social status!
