Gary speed is one of the best midfielders in the Premiership. He has been the mos consistent midfielder for the past 5 years no matter what team he played for. First at Leeds, then at Everton and now at Newcastle. You can always rely on Gary to give 100% and recently he has been Captain for his nation. For Wales Gary has been just as consistent. Gary can be called upon to win tackles set up chances and score his fair share of goals. If there was one bad point about Gary it is maybe is defending and also his lack of goals at international level. He has scored very few goals for Wales. I have to say that Gary Speed has unfortunately been one of the most overlooked players in the premiership. He last season made more premiership appearences than any other player and has been a strong figure in the midfield ever since he first came to newcastle. The boy is not afraid of going forward either with a goal tally which would impress any midfielder. He keeps together the midfield in the absence of the ageing Rob Lee and allways tries for the simple ball. He may not have the flair of the likes of Dyer but he has an integral role in the center of midfield. All of this made me think about what would happen if he ever became injured, personally I ...
