Advantages: Super powerfull

Disadvantages: A bit too pricey to see if you like it or not

The Air-sport 170 CX has a carbon airframe and will fly in wind speeds up to 20 miles per hour. The Kite is the usual delta wing type associated with sports kites. The wing span is around 5 foot 6 inches and the kite comes with 36kg braided flying lines, fully adjustable bridle (to alter the kites angle of attack) and carry bag.

To be honest I was a little disappointed with the performance of this particular kite when I compared it to my Air-sport 150GX. Although the kite is very agile and powerful, to the extent that your arms feel like the are going to drop off after 30 mins of flying, the kite never seems to achieve the speeds of its smaller brother. This may be due to slower wind speeds the kite will fly in but 5 MPH shouldn’t make that much difference. I feel the 150GX has the speed stakes won. The power of the 170CX is awesome though, becoming quite unnerving at times as a big gust of wind fills the ripstop nylon sail. The kite physically pulls you forwards and puts a real strain on your back and forearms.

Overall an awesome sports kite but for the price of between £40 - £50 depending where you get it from, I think I would have the faster 150GX and save some money.
