Suicide in General

This is not the sort of review that makes for comfortable reading, nor one I feel particullarlly comfortable writing; but if it dissuades one person from taking that final step, it will be worth it. No one can be a hundred percent certain that they would never contemplate suicide or encounter such a harrowing event within their own family or circle of friends. Suicide is basically a person taking their own life. I think this is such a complicated and delicate topic to talk about, but I'm going to try and give my opinion and views in the best way possible without the intention to insult or put anyone down or upset anyone. People may feel the need to take their own life for so many different reasons, stress, bullying, money issues, family issues and many more. Suicide is a touchy subject for a lot of people. Almost everyone knows of someone who has commited suicide or who has been feeling suicide. Many young people are committing suicide for many different reasons either losing a loved one, money problems, health reasons many different reasons. This is a horrendous experience to ever go through and one I hope most people will never face. My 1st cousin was 15 when she commiitted suicide. There was no sign of it coming or anything. Once it happened I have tried to work out why she did it. My cousin was only a few months old when she was adopted by my uncle and aunt who couldn't have kids of their own. She had a terrible first few months of life - her biological parents burnt her with cigarettes (she had scars on her tummy to prove it) and abused her. January 13th 2003 is the day my world stopped. Wrapped up in my stressful world of studying and exams, I took no notice of the door slamming and my mum running to the car until my mum's partner called my sister and I downstairs. A carer had phoned to say that she couldn't find our gran. There was a cryptic note, but no sign of her.
