Advantages: Cheap, 2-for-1

Disadvantages: Having a name and number on it

I, like many others was very excited when I saw the new England kit (the reversible one) in the newspapers about 2 months before their release date.

As soon as I saw it I thought. "I want to get it before the 2002 World Cup but it will probably cost £50+ considering it's reversible."

So the days passed and the launch date was upon me. I thought I'd get to the shops early so my chances of getting a new shirt were high. I popped down to my local JJB Sports and to my surprise the shirt cost £30. What a bargain.

I hear a lot of people moaning in the press about how football clubs rip off their fans by charging high prices for a replica shirt, but I must commend the FA on the latest shirt.

The shirt is Red one side, resembling the famous red England shirt Bobby Moore and co wore when they won the World Cup in 1966, the other side is dark blue, it's supposed to look like a train top.

No matter which side you wear the shirt the Umbro sign and the Three Lions badge is on show. The material is the "New technology" cotton. It's supposed to absorb your sweat and the sweat evaporates from the shirt. I haven't been able to put the shirt to that test yet.

A disadvantage to the shirt is if you wanted to put a name and number on the back of the shirt you would have to keep that side of the shirt on show. Eg. If i wanted "Owen" and the number "9" put on the red side, but turned the shirt inside out so the blue side was showing, you wood see the outline of the "Owen" and "9" but it would be backwards.

The shirt has the now famous "Wear by date" on it. This is to ensure that the England team will wear the shirt for a pre-determined period. In this case the shirt will be worn from March 2002 - March 2004.

Overall the shirt looks stylish and for £30 you can't go wrong with it.
