I was recently given a present from my mum. She handed me a large cupboard box. I was intrigued, as when I opened it I found a cream canvas bag and inside this bag was a Teddy Bear. I admit I adored Teddy bears when I was younger however, being in my mid thirties I was surprised at my mums choice of present. Taking the bear out of the bag I came face to face with a dark faced bear. All I can say it was love at first sight!

The bear was a grizzly bear named Malcolm from a company called Charlie Bears who are based in Cornwall. My bear is 48cm high with beautiful facial features that give him a personality of his own. He is jointed arms, legs and head with a big tummy. The fur is soft with big padded paws. He came in a canvas bag which included a poem regarding bears which I thought was a great personal touch.

I have now found out that the bears this company make are limited editions and new bears are launched each season. All bears are handmade which make them all unique. Being limited this does make the bears expensive, they range from £20 to over a £100. My bear was around £40. Having reviewed the collection, they all seemed to have a huge amount of character through beautiful expressive faces. The bears came in all colours and sizes. There are several ranges available, one called the Isabelle collection where all bears come in a presentation box and certificate of authenticity.

The price obviously counts these bears out as presents for younger children however they are great present for the young at heart and are a real collectors piece. I guarantee they will put a smile on anyones face.
