Advantages: you mature a lot faster and show a lot of stregnth

Disadvantages: people who do not understand how tough it is judge you which is totally unfair.

I'm 16 and about to have my 1st child in 3days. i don't think there is a lack of sexual education because any1 who is sexually active can fall pregnant. every teenager knows theres a risk they could fall pregnant or get a STD. contraception isn't always 100% effective as i found out. i think it takes a lot of maturity to actually go through with the pregnancy at such a young age because i see abortion as the cowards way out. im strongly against abortion. i think a lot of people use abortion like contraception. i live in New Zealand and we also have very high teen pregnancy records but here in NZ there are teen parent units especially for young parents. Its a secondary school for teen parents which allows you to get your education and you can also take your children there, as there is a childcare joint onto the school. they provide breakfast and lunch for you and your child and pick you and your child up from home in the mornings and drop you off after school. the kids love it and its completely free of charge for any young parent under the age of 21. the girls who go to these schools have a very high success rates in their grades and most will move onto very successful jobs. Just because we are young doesn't mean we cant make great parents and have great jobs. this unreal experience has made me realize how short life really is and has made me grow up a lot. I am so excited to meet my Little Boy!

Summary: im a teenage mum and would chose to live my life anyother way. im doing so much better at school....
