Should the TV licence be scrapped?:
... think that the TV licence should be scrapped. I decided to check the web as I wondered when the licence was introduced and I found the following information on wikipedia, When first introduced on 1 June 1946, the licence covering the monochrome-only single-channel BBC television service cost £2, the equivalent of £57 in 2006. On 1 January 1968, a colour supplement of £5 was added to the existing £5 monochrome ... Read the full review: Give me your money by kelly10 |

Should the TV licence be scrapped? ... dont like the idea of the TV licence. After i found out that the TV licence is only for the BBC channels i was more against the idea because the programms and documentaries are not even to my taste so why should i pay for the licence? myself - i only watch SKY channels so why should i pay for something i dont even watch? If there was a way to block the BBC channels - i would! i would do anything to get away from the licence fee because it makes not sense to me. I pay for my subscription for my SKY happily, because i watch it. These days there seems to be the misconception that if you have a TV you HAVE to have a licence - well it shouldnt be that way - it should ... Read the full review: Utter Rubbish by no1ace |

It always amazes me how some people moan about the license fee but pay £30+ per month to watch wall to wall sh*te on Sky or fork out fortunes to watch tv programmes in DVD format that will be obsolete in a few years time. It makes me laugh how some regard it as some kind of left wing liberal channel. The BBC is a bastion of Britishness draped in the Union Jack. It is not dependent on a diet of bland mediocrity imported from America. Its schedules are not saturated with sport from nine to midnigh... Read the full review: Long Live Beebdom! by Zmugzy |
