Is it poverty or is it religion. Ask me and I will tell you it is probably religion.
Terrorism is urban warfare. Terrorist organisations attack and disrupt everyday life. It is a cowards way to kill innocent people.
9/11, 7/7, daily attacks in Iraq, bomb attacks in India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Afganistan, France are all linked to Islamic Jihad. Bush was right when he said Axes of evil. You can pay of North Korea but not Iran.
Terrorism is not just done by Muslims. ETA, Sri Lanka, Africa, Colombia have terrorist as well. In Europe we are under attack from Islamic terrorists, they live in our countries, and they blame us for problems with Muslim countries. While I agree America and sometime us had policy which was bad. Muslim countries have to realise that they create their own problems too. Read reports by Transparency International and you will find a lot of Muslim countries are corrupt.
Currently Islamic Jihad is causing headaches in every capital in Europe. However there are thousands of terrorists groupings in the world. Not all are Muslim. You have anti-abortion groups breaking the laws, animal rights groups doing the same. Nationalist terrorists, Jewish terrorists, Christian terrorists, Hindu terrorists, in fact every religion has or had terrorist organisations. Every religion except Budhists.
Terrorism will never stop. Weapons are easy to buy or to make. Tolerance is not understood by many. Anarchy is a hip word. Whenever a terrorist attack occurs and people die for most of us it is news for few days and then forgotten, but for those who lose someone they know it is pain for life.
Maybe in the future there is genetic therapy which stops people from committing violence.
Terrorism is popular because it works. I can think of dozens of organisations which have killed and are now part of mainstream society.
