Advantages: Used for political purposes

Disadvantages: Not really a clear definition

Everybody talks about terrorism, but the most curious thing is that we don't even know what's the meaning of the word.

If you look into national and international laws, you will not find a definition of the term. In fact, we fight terrorism but we are not able to explain what we exactly intend to fight.

We cannot say that terrorism is some kind of violence activity against a government, since we would ban every revolutionnary group fighting dictatorships.

If we assume that terrorists are people using violence against civilians for political or religious reasons, then kamikaze's attacks against armed forces wouldn't be considered as terrorism.

We should admit that we are doing a very dangerous use of language, everytime we use the term "terrorism", because there is not a clear definition.

After the 11/9 attacks, from Africa to Asia, many dictatorships began using the word "terrorist" to delegitimate every internal political oppositions.

In fact, does "terrorist" actually mean something different tha the term "enemy"?
