Terrorism is something which we all seem to know about yet we cannot actually define. This is because Capitalist society like all societys before it is based upon conflicting forces. Those who seek change and those who oppose it. The Radicals vs the Reactionaries. This battle rages on at all points in history, regardless of it being covert or overt. One way in which the more advanced nation states make money is to sell arms. This therefore creates a higher proportion of arms readily available in society. Thus we see a rise in the overt style of conflict. The ruling class within society has placed itself in a position of weakness through its very need to create more capital. The race in the war on terrorism is not about destroying the enemies forces but is in fact about gaining the hearts and minds of the citizens in order that they can actually fight in the first place. The attack on the United States must be seen in the wider context of why they happened. No person doe's anything for no reason. To know the truth we must ask questions and also be ready to act on the answers.

- 06/06/02 might as well post this here...
Terrorism exists because of the need for opposing forces in society...everything living or inanimate has opposite forces exerted on it...and so Terrorism is really just the logical manifestation of these forces....Terrorism is needed just as much by a Capitalist society as it was for a feudal society, becuase it perpetuates the system of 'US' and 'THEM'...some people think that anywhere outside their own country is a scary un-certain place..hence the illogical dis-trust of European Union..
Hope this goe's some of the way towards explaining the points. |
