Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Far more difficult to use

What has happened to the Dooyoo site that we all know and love.
I have to admit I haven't been here for a while because I have just moved house and have been rather busy, but it seems like dooyoo has moved house too.

Why has everything been made so much more difficult? The old site was far easier to use.

The one thing I really miss on the new site is the little box in the right hand corner which used to have your dooyoo miles on it and updated every time you changed page.
Part of the buzz of dooyoo used to be watching my miles go up every time someone read one of my opinions.
If I noticed my miles go up then I could go back to my opinion and see if anyone had left any comments and see how it had been rated.

I also miss the boxes on the left hand side that took you straight to where the new opinions, new categories etc were. It is now far more complicated to get there.

I am a member of Ciao also although I never really bothered with it very much because the site wasn't as community based as dooyoo and the site was no where near as well designed. Now I am very tempted to start using Ciao more as it is easier to use than the newly designed Dooyoo. I think Dooyoo is quite likely to lose a lot of its regular writers to other sites which will be a shame.

I understand that with any redesign there are going to be problems and bugs that need sorting out but hey there has to be a limit. It has become very difficult to rate peoples opinions and actually putting opinions on the site has become nearly impossible.
At least the site should have been tested well enough for it to be usable before it was put up for use by the general public.

Why has the uk site been changed while others have stayed the same?

I'm sorry but I really can't find anything positive to say about the redesign. I am a very optimistic person and I hope that the bigwigs in charge of dooyoo take note of what the major
ity of dooyoo users are saying and change the site back to the way it was, but I won't hold my breath.

I have to say that I am getting used to it now. I would hope that people will stick with the site to see what happens but I agree there are many improvements to be made

I'm with Feathers: the single worst problem is the atrocious navigation for categories such as books - in which I have great interest, but that's no bloody use if it takes three hours to damn well find anything!

As for the miles ticking over - I wonder whether the reason that's gone is so people don't notice how slowly they go up these days?

Incidental ly, I've heard from more than one source indications that a large number of categories will be going non-paying soon. If that's true, then Ciao's major disadvantage vanishes at a stroke. It'd be commercial suicide... so it'll probably happen :-(

I am not to keen on the redesign either. I especially hate the way the categories are set up. It now takes me ages to find what I'm looking for. I've also had problems with the search engine. I searched CD/book/film titles and they've not come up in the results, yet I know they are on the site.
