Advantages: Users leave, reducing bandwidth costs
Disadvantages: Can't browse products categories as before, Seems to take an age to find what I want now, It's a mess, it even looks ugly
You'll notice that I started writing reviews on Dooyoo shortly before the largely unpopular redesign and stopped immediately after.
Since then I have occasionally looked for products on this site (bloody hard work these days) but pretty much stopped writing.
Well today, I have purchased a new product which I felt people really needed to be told about so I came back to this awful site to try to write a review.
The product is not currently listed and nowhere can I find how I can add it. Perhaps somewhere this is possible but since after 15 minutes clicking around aimlessly I have failed to find where (a design fault) and concluded that this site is now a waste of my time and not worthy of any opinion besides this slag-off.
I'm not someone who simply objects to change but I do object to change for the sake of change. As far as I can see nothing has been improved. Navigating the product tree is now a confusing chore where it used to be simple pages of lists which, though not pretty, were at least easy to use.
I held back at the time and did not comment on the new design as it was new and though I hated it I felt it was only fair to allow DooYoo time to sort out teething problems. Having returned and attempted to use the site a few months on I'm just really angry that it is still messy rubbish.
Oh, and I'm a web developer and have been for 5 years. This site is pants, a design and usability disaster and I'm sure I'm not the only person to leave DooYoo as a result of it.

You go to the homepage, log in and then go back to the homepage to find a review or click on a link you can only find on the homepage. Once you click "Back" it logs you out and to comment on anything or rate a review you have to log in again. Maybe it's just me. However, I am an experienced surfer and sometimes only get round by pure experience and instinct. God help the new surfers! |

- 27/05/03 I'm quite new to this site so I don't know what it was like before, but it is difficult to use, Ciao is so much easier - quite a few people I know from Ciao came over here, wrote one op and new used it again because they hated it! Lisa x |
