The euro as I'm sure most are aware of, was a currency made for the countries of the EU, to use one united form of currency. Our country however still has pride in all things English, including our currency the pound. Despite this, debates go on as to whether it is appropriate to keep the pound or change our currency to the euro. My review is ...

Yes adopting the euro increased the cost of life of the other european countries only because THEIR RESPECTIVE CURRENCIES VALUE WAS INFERIOR TO THE EURO.
So those who fear for an increase in the cost of life in Britain should stop worrying, i think the opposite will happen.
British will then realize how much they are being ripped off. Using the same currency as the rest of Europe will make you realize the difference of price for any given good and the arbitrary inflation FOR NO REASON.

I think that we should never never agree to the euro. Everywhere that you visit in europe that has gone over to the euro the prices have rocketed. If you talk to people that rememember decimalization, they will gladly tell you that prices of everyday goods were all rounded up, making a huge difference to the cost of living for the ...

From the point of view of simplicity, changing over to the Euro may seem like a good idea. In times past, travelling around Europe one had to change currency more often than your socks. This was a nightmare. Now, most of those problems have gone in most member states. However, this is not to suggest that the Euro is right for Britain. It ...

The Euro is the currency of twelve European Union countries, stretching from the Mediterranean to the Arctic Circle. Euro banknotes and coins have been in circulation since 1 January 2002 and are now a part of daily life for over 300 million Europeans living in the euro area. But what do we mean when we talk about the Euro. As we all know a coin ...

i think there is one thing that 100% correct here, the current state of UK manufacturing is that of one getting shafted - badly. The advantages of one single currency are not seen to clearly in europe at the moment - especially with most manufacturing going to china - one of the reasons for this is that europes labour laws aren't very flexible, ...

The Euro isn't a much talked about thing in the UK right now. Thats why i am writing this, it pretty much proves my argument. The Euro debate has been won by the "No" camp. Everyone knows Tony Blair would like us to join up to the Euro. His counterpart Gordon Brown "won't join until economic ...

from the day, and before, the euro was introduced in spain, i can safely say from first hand experience that we here in spain have definitely not benefitted from it's introduction...it seemed as if they just changed the expression at the end of the number from pesetas to euros & centimos. instead of being 250 pts it became 2.50 euros which in ...

This is the first time I have entered the darkened world of political debate. But in the current climate I thought it was about time I spoke on a matter that I am interested in. The Euro War will soon be taking place, people for and against will battle out and then we the people will decide whether to join the rest of Europe or become a ...

When I wanted some Euros to give my grandsons I went to my bank - HSBC who said - "we don't keep them. It will take 2 days!" I couldn't believe that in this day & age a major high street bank doesn't keep Euros. I then went to Thomas Cook, asked for 60 Euros & offered my switch card to pay for them. Sorry madam ...

They hate us, we are an island but they hate us, just look at the Eurovision Song contest! Our nearest neighbours are the Irish and they don't even vote for us, ok so it was a rubbish song, anyway, the Euro. Britain or Britains Goverment has been losing our identitiy for years now. We are soon to be the themepark of Europe containing ...

I have been reading the various opinions expressed about the Euro over the past couple of years. I have been loathe to add my ha'p'thy (sorry, 0.33 of a Cent) but I feel the time has come. I just can't put up with the total b******t being spouted by the anti-Euro lobby any longer. So what has happened since almost everyone ...

I thought a perspective from an American traveller might be refreshing and interesting to some of you people. I am not here to teach economics 101 so I am going to shy away from the advantages of joining with the Euro from the position of the result to direct foreign investment and trade or even the numeristic intrigue. I am going to write about ...

Advantages: The first significant advantage which membership to the EURO brings is the fact that it will eliminate transaction costs of converting national currencies. The first implication of this is lower prices to EU consumers of products imported and exported within the EU. As a result of this, the rate of inflation should fall, ...

Actually, I am not going to talk about naked French ladies. Not in this review anyway. But it got me my 3p out of you! The Euro is an extraordinary concept. 12 nations sharing a currency! The concept itself is not new. For years, nations have forced their country to track that of another nation. Israel chased the US Dollar. Ireland ...

Having just returned south from a trip to Glasgow, I found I still had a couple of Scottish fivers in my back pocket. Ordering a Malibu and Coke in a pub in Central London I offered one of the notes in payment. The barman looked at it as if I had given him one of those Middle Eastern washers with a hole in the middle. "Wossis, ...

As promised by Tony Blair in his election campaign, a referendum on the Euro is to be launched in the coming two years, however most individuals feel relatively uneducated with regards to arguments for and against. European Monetary Union to many people seems like a very scary word, but simply means every nation part of the Euro will ...
