I have big dreams of being an actress, and the list of my favorite actresses below are the ones I look as talent and fantastic careers, sadly these actresses are underrated and people don't see the talent. But I will show you the talent in these women!
1. Judi Dench
This woman is one of the best British actresses around, she has got one of the most perfect, acting, speaking voices and I don't think that there is any actress who can replace her wonderful voice, I could not believe that one of the top drama schools kept rejecting her. Seven times. But thank goodness they finally saw the talent and potential in this woman otherwise they would have lost a very good actress.
2. Meryl Streep
Even though, I prefer and admire most of the British actors compared to the American actors, but I can honestly say that Meryl Streep has to be one of the most amazing American actresses, she can play so many characters and having different voices/accents for each character is incredible. She is one of my acting heroes and I really inspire to her one day.
3. Helen Mirren
This woman is another of those amazing British actresses, and also I will say that she does have an amazing body for a 60 year old. She did an amazing performance in 'the queen' and you really see that she is the queen! I can't wait to see more work of Helen Mirren - cause she is just incredible
4. Cate Blancett
This woman is another woman in Hollywood, she is so versitile - which means she can almost play and fit in any role perfectly she could play any age range old young, male or female. This woman should be given more credit for any role she does.
5. Vivien Leigh
After I watched Gone with the wind I fell in love with this woman, she has real beauty and she is a perfect example of an real actress and not one of those overrated untalented ones like you get today. Shame she died young cause she had so much talent and future from her
6. Imelda Staunton
She is a very good character actress, even though she is not pretty but she does have an amazing talent and really loves to show what she loves doing. We need to respect this woman a bit more cause she is a great role model.
I've always seemed to prefer actresses to actors throughout my teen years and even now. Maybe it's because I relate to them more or have an idealised view of them. Whatever the psychosis is behind it I always like seeing a certain collection of actresses.
For me my favourite actresses are:
Yes, I know she's a paparazzi favourite but if you look beyond the headlines there's a talented actress behind the stories. I think her earlier work is definitely her best. Gia and Girl, Interrupted are outstanding pieces of work. I also like the story behind Girl, Interrupted; it was supposed to be a comeback for Winona Ryder but Jolie was so good in it she stole the show and rightly so. It was in this role that she won her first Oscar.
It seems though that since Tomb Raider there hasn't been a film quite like either of these, it could be because they're not writing films like that anymore or Jolie simply isn't being casted in them. I do admit though that Changeling was perhaps her best film since Girl, Interrupted.
I also had the joy of going to the Tomb Raider two premiere in London when I was sixteen and was less than four feet from her and she's even more stunning in person!
Films to watch: Gia, Girl Interrupted, Changeling, Tomb Raider
I first saw Tiffani Thiessen in Fastlane which was shown on Sky1. She played a hard nosed Lieutenant for the LAPD but found fame on Saved by the Bell and 90210. I think I became a fan through Fastlane because I liked how she showed a tougher side to a female character and lets face it, she's not bad looking either! But her acting talent is there, but as she's mostly done TV work (more recently in White Collar) she's not really known on the big screen stage. Oh, and apparently she just had a baby girl last month!
Shows to watch Tiffani in: Fastlane, White Collar (currently showing on USA HBO)
Who doesn't like Sandra Bullock? The woman's comic timing is pretty much unrivaled by other actresses. I loved her Razzi acceptance speech as much as her Oscar one and she seems to have handled herself well in front of the media through her recent divorce. She'll always be a favourite of mine and I'll always see her films even if there have been a few bad ones.
Films to watch: Miss Congeniality, Practical Magic, Speed, The Blind Side
Growing up I was OBSESSED with the X-Files and in particular Scully. I've not seen much of Anderson's work since here though as I know she's done a lot of plays in London and New York. She was in Bleak House though that was shown on BBC1 which is highly recommended as it's a far cry away from her X-File days. Gillian Anderson will always be a firm favourite as I've grown up watching her on TV from the age of nine and will always watch anything she's in.
Shows to watch: X-Files (avoid later series, it went downhill after series 7), Bleak House.
So those are my favourite actresses, who are yours?
I love to watch television and have my favourite shows. I also watch a lot of films which is evident due to our expanding DVD cupboard. Of course, like many others, I have my favourite actors and actresses. I tend to sway more with the actors and moreso the extra good looking ones such as Josh Harnett and Bruce Willis (yes I know he is in his 50s but he is still hot ok!). This being said, I see qualities in the acting of the ladies too. Here is my shortened list of favourite actresses.
In no particular order :
1.Jennifer Aniston - I think she is a fantastic actress and adapts to various roles well. I am a huge Friends fan and Rachel is my favourite in the show. She acts well in films such as The Break Up and Marley and Me and always creates a perfect atmosphere with whoever she is starring with.
2. Jodie Foster - Jodie plays different roles in many films and always manages to pull them off. She is extremely talented and versatile. Particular favourites she has acted in include Flight Plan where she played a frantic mother and The Brave One where she had to cope with her partner being killed and the killers still being at large.
3. Kate Winslet - Kate played the main role of Rose in Titanic in 1997 and played it so well that I have enjoyed her films ever since. A more recent one I enjoyed was The Holiday where she swapped houses with Cameron Diaz to escape the man she loved who didn't love her back. 12yrs on from Titanic, she still looks as beautiful and at ease with the roles she is given.
4. Elisha Cuthbert - I was first introduced to this actress when she played a pornstar in teen film The Girl Next Door. She then went on to star alongside the annoying Paris Hilton in House of Wax. She is most famous for her role in American hit 24 where she plays Kim Bauer..daughter of the oh so lush Jack Bauer. She was in 79 episodes from 2001-2010. Most recently she has been in an amazing film called Captivity. I thought she really came into her own in 24. She progressed from Jacks immature daughter to a young woman with a life on her own and had to deal with immense pressure.
5. Keira Knightley - Keira is another fab actress. I first spotted her when I went to see Bend It Like Beckham years ago. She was young and played the role so well. She also starred in creepy film The Hole which is a film I love but is quite daunting. Since then she has starred in Love Actually and played the role perfectly along with all the other amazing actors and actresses. For me personally, I would say her best role is Elizabeth Swann in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. She fights, she falls in love and adapts perfectly to the role.
6. Famke Janssen - Famke has starred in many films. She also starred in Nip/Tuck as Ava and played the role perfectly. She has had small roles in The Faculty and Taken. She has also excelled as Jean Grey in the XMen films. My particular favourite is 100 Feet where she plays Marnie Watson. After killing her abusive husband, she is on house arrest and is haunted by the demon. This is a brutal film and certainly not one for the faint hearted. She plays the role of Marnie very well and efficiently and is very convincing.
7. Julia Roberts - Julia has been a huge success and is a fantastic actress. Her career in films dates back to 1988 the year I was born. Pretty Woman was her first big hit and a true classic. She had a cameo role in Friends. Her best role in my opinion was actress Anna Scott in the British hit Notting Hill. Starring alongside Hugh Grant, she played the role well and defied the odds of love. Now a Mum, she still acts perfectly in any roles asigned to her.
8. Anna Faris - I love the Scary Movie films and Anna stars as the main character in 4 of them. She plays the typical ditzy blonde girl Cindy, who couldn't see a killer if she was staring at him! She is hilarious and extremely convincing which can be worrying. She also plays the role of Erica in the last season of Friends. Erica is having Monica and Chandlers babies and has the ditzy blonde craze down to a tee again! She also stars in Lost in Translation and Brokeback Mountain.
9. Zoe Lucker - Zoe played super bitch Tanya Turner in British show Footballers Wives. She had the stuck up WAG role played perfectly and was very feisty. She was by far my favourite of the WAGs and I was always wishing she would turn round and smack her cheating hubby! I was so happy when I heard she was joining the Eastenders cast and so far so good..she is perfect for that role too!
10. Rachel McAdams - Rachel is another actress famous for her versatility when it comes to roles. She played the high school bitch and plastic Regine George in Mean Girls. She was so nasty that it really was convincing and showed how some girls can be. She starred alongside Vince Vaughan and Owen Wilson in Wedding Crashers and played the role of Amy in the Family Stone well. She can easily change her emotions and appearance to suit her role. For me, the best role she has played was Lisa in the 2005 film Red Eye. Practially being held to ransom by Cillian Murphy, she shows all the right fear and emotions you would expect and this was a superb film. I am looking forward to seeing The Time Travellers Wife too.
So there is my list..boring I know and it took ages to think of who I liked best :)
So, this list is going to do exactly what it says on the tin; I'm going to list my favourite actresses (top 5, just in case you're wondering whether this is going to be a long-winded list), a reason why and then feel free to debate with me about the flaws of my list. And, one final note is that this list is in no particular order-- I'm not that mean!
1. Eva Green- most well known for being the Bond girl opposite Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, this 29 year old French actress is actually incredible. She has a certain eccentric quality, is undeniably beautiful in a completely exotic, unique way, and isn't afraid to take on challenging roles (have you seen The Dreamers?). She's somewhat underrated in my opinion, but definitely an actress to watch out for.
2. Summer Glau- this 28 year old fomer Prima Ballerina is most famous for her role as Cameron, the femme terminator in The Sarah Connor Chronicles. However, for me she'll always be sweet, insane River Tam (Firefly/Serenity), which might be the greatest role she'll ever have. Fairly unknown outside of the science fiction/geek circles, she's athletic (as can only be expected from a former ballet dancer), sweet, quirky and another underrated actress.
3. Angelina Jolie- you can say what you want about her personal life but this woman can act. Former model, she first came into the public eye in the cult 1995 film Hackers, and since then has gone from strength to strength. For me, my favourite of her roles would be in Girl:Interrupted (if you haven't seen it then go watch, now!). Don't let your personal feelings towards her put you off seeing her films because you really will be missing out on some fine acting.
4. Liv Tyler- another model turned actress, the child of a model and rock star (such a cliche!) is another actress who, I feel, is somewhat underrated. To date, her most famous roles would be in Armageddon or The Lord of the Rings trilogy. She is incredibly striking looking and you will undoubtedly know her face if you haven't seen any of her films.
5. Cameron Diaz- the list was lacking any blonde hair so have to finish with someone a little bit different. Cameron Diaz (yet another model turned actress) is probably most famous for her comedy roles, such as in There's Something about Mary, My Best Friends Wedding and the Charlies Angels films. However, sometimes I think that these comedy roles take the attention away from the fact that she really can act (watch her in My Sisters Keeper if you don't believe me). Unlike other people on this list as well, she is underrated and to date remains one of Hollywoods best paid actresses.
So, that was my short list. Hope you all enjoyed reading it and feel free to comment if you disagree with my choices (I think you will but c'est la vie!), and go write your own lists now.
i was thinking about this category and i was trying to work out my top 5 and its actually quite hard because they've all got different skills and qualities that make so many of them brilliant. So i came to a decision.
1. Drew Barrymore
I absolutely love her in Never been kissed she has a great comedy angle as well as being a serious actress. She is very talented and i think she could step into so many roles and complete them in such a manner that it would be as if they were written for her
2. Sandra Bullock
She is such a fab actress her chemistry with hugh grant in two weeks notice is just thrilling. she really puts her self into her roles and to me it seems so real life, she just changes her way of life to fit in with her film.
i got this far and honestly can't think of who to put i could list hundreds and i have decided that all actresses are fab in some roles and some others are just not right for them. But anyway i also think that
Hilary Duff is a fab actress she just tries so hard with her roles and really likes to get herself noticed.
Also mary-kate and ashely olsen in there films when they were younger, its so nice to have two sisters who are so close playing roles of two sisters that are meant to be close. I am especially in love with the film Winning London they really show how an american reacts to the UK. it's such a fab film, so nice how they fall in love. They are great actresses and films for young girls who aspire to be like them as they never do anything that drastic and always have a laugh. They are great role models as well as actresses.
So they are my 5 favourite actresses and i hope you may agree with some of them.
Here is my pick of the Top 10 actresses of today. These are the ones that appeal to me, and are my sole opinion!!
1. Scarlett Johansson
I chose Scarlett Johansson because she is uber glamourous and has been in an array of hit movies. She resembles the late Marilyn Monroe; she sets trends and has that classic beauty. She has played a number of different roles from a clone in "The Island", to Mary Boleyn in "The Other Boleyn Girl" and will be starring in the upcoming Iron Man 2.
EDIT: She also tried her luck in the music industry and has released two albums (one with Pete Yorn). I have to say she has a really unique voice but the style of music wasn't for me...
2. Keira Knightley
Keira Knightley comes second because there is just a sparkle about her. She comes on screen and she makes you smile. Maybe it's her smile, or that mesmerizing jaw, but she lights up the room. Whilst it is debatable how well she acts, she rocks the period dramas, "Pride And Prejudice". She will be starring in "My Fair Lady", which I am sure she will do well in also. She is also very down to Earth.
EDIT: She also starred in Atonement... which was great!
3. Gemma Arterton
Gemma is an upcoming British actress, and there is something to her personality. She has a dark edge to her! She has been in James Bond Quantum of Solace, St Trinians, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, The Boat that rocked; and will be starring in Prince Of Persia, Wuthering Heights and Tamara Drewe. She is going to be one of the biggest stars in the next few years, and she was born with six fingers. Awesome!
4. Sandra Bullock
Sandra Bullock is just someone who is extremely talented at what she does, and takes risks to achieve the maximum effect. She has played a variety of roles, and my favourites include her in Speed and Miss Congeniality. Even at her age, she is not afraid to let go and take on exciting roles, such as in The Proposal, All About Steve etc.
5. Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon has put her foot in the film industry and is not taking it out. She has played Elle in Legally Blonde which shot her to stardom, along with Just like heaven and sweet home Alabama. After these "chick flicks", she took on more challenging roles such as in Walk the Line and Rendition, the former gained critical acclaim. She is a fantastic actress, can do both comedic and serious, and is likely to grace our cinemas a lot more in the next decade.
Other actresses I like: Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, Song Hye Kyo, Miriam Yeung, Anne Hathaway
I have just heard the news the Wendy Richards has passed away, at this news I feel a great sadness as I believe that Wendy was a great British Actress and that most Peaple will remember her as Pauline in our great soap Eastenders.
Pauline is iconic of Eastenders and would be described as a great Matriach in beale family, her friendship with Dot Cotton bought great Houmour and showed her great ability as an actress. Pauline and her cardigans have always gone hand in hand. Pauline was renowned for speaking first and thinking a few months later! As a great character evryone I believe would have recolations of her from Slapping probably every female in the square! To her understanding and Support of Mark and his Hiv to her narrow minded views.
Wendy Richards also appeared in Dad's Army and in two Carry on films as well as are you being served.
in my opinion Wendy Richards may be gone but her work will live on on Pauline Fowler will be in Eastenders Fans hearts forever she was a great British instition and for me a talented actress and very brave and couragous woman.
Her talent has bought me pleasure over the years and I am off to watch the tribute to her and I urge anyone who has not come across this talented funny actress to sit back and raise a glass to Wendy Richards.
While Actors seem to be able to get roles at any age and are never dumped on the scrapheap there was a time when actresses were only selected on looks and hence after a certain age became dispensable, while this is probably still the case for the less well respected female thespians who rely more on looks than talent, there is a growing number of female actresses who are amazing, and being given juicy roles long after they pass 30, which is wonderful, enclosed are a list of my 10 favourite actresses and why:
10: Drew Barrymore - While Drew is not always selected for the meatiest parts, she has charisma and a real sparkle on screen, from ET she was a star and part of the grand Barrymore family, but when you consider what she's been through, how she's fought through it and is now one of the most respected actresses with a bright future in front and behind the camera, I have a lot of respect for her, favourite films of hers include, 50 First Dates, Donnie Darko, Charlies Angels, Never been Kissed and her regular spots on Family Guy.
9: Helena Bonham Carter - A mainstay of her husband (Tim Burton's) recent films, such as Sweeny Todd, Big Fish and Planet of the Apes, I love watching her, she's amazing in Fight Club as the adrenaline addicted woman with nothing to live for and equally excellent in Wallace and Gromit, she can do comedy, musicals, high drama such as Howards End or Twelfth Night, or equally turn up in Frankenstein or Harry Potter.
8: Angelina Jolie - Possibly too famous for her looks and off-screen exploits, Jolie appeared in Gia a film about a doomed supermodel at the start of her career, she has played action hero Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider films, but has really shown her abilities as a serious actress in her oscar winning performance in Girl Interrupted and more recently in films such as A mighty Heart and Changeling, she has mixed this up with commercial fare such as Mr and Mrs Smith (with husband Brad Pitt), Wanted and Kung Fu Panda. She has real ability and puts admirable belief into her characters, adding personality and a touch of grit.
7: Jane Fonda - Amazing in Barbarella all those years ago, Jane was the hollywood sex kitten who got a conscience and became much more than part of a famous hollywood family, with starring parts in Klute, The China Syndrome and They shoot horses don't they. She has won 2 oscars and appeared in great films such as On Golden Pond and 9 to 5, castigated for many years losing lots of work due to her stance on Vietnam, Fonda has always done well in meaty parts and while more recently she is only known for the average Monster in Law, she has the ability to still give great performances.
6: Cate Blanchett - One of the most versatile and under-rater actresses in Hollywood today Blanchett has been in rafts of blockbuster films and indie flicks, she can be beautiful and mysterious or tone it down to more base levels. Starting more in indie films such as Heaven and Notes on a Scandal, Blanchett has now been in an Indiana Jones film, Lord of the Rings, Babel, The Good German, both wonderful 'Elizabeth' films and the excellent Hot Fuzz, she can be anything, heroine, villain and is never typecast, a truly great actress and somebody who will be in many more films over the years.
5: Kate Winslet - This British Actress began in the Peter Jackson film 'Heavenly Creatures' she has starred in the Blockbuster 'Titanic' and as well as heavier fare such as 'Sense and Sensibility', 'Jude' and 'Iris', she is a wonderful actress able to change appearance and style for a film, able to be a screwball comedy actress or heavyweight thespian she is wonderful in 'the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' and just as good in the romantic comedy 'The Holiday'. Oscar plaudits are on the horizon for her performance as a Nazi in 'The Reader' and a strong showing in 'The Revolutionary Road' reuniting her with Leonardo Di Caprio and directed by her husband Sam Mendes.
4: Ingrid Bergman - Pick 10 of the greatest films of all time, its more than likely that Ingrid Bergman was in 1 or 2 of them, she is under-rated, generally sparring with strong male leads, but for me she was a strong woman at a time when women didn't have as much power as they did today, a really great actress, lending glamour and gravitas to a role. This 3 times Oscar winning Swedish actress starred in the wonderful Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart, Spellboung and Notorious for Hitchcock. She was excellent in For Whom the Bell Tolls, and in Gaslight with Charles Boyer.
3: Helen Mirren - From early fame in films such as Caligula, Mirren is well known to Brits as Jane Tennison in the wonderful 'Prime Suspect' Series, she has wonderful acting ability, her portrait of the Queen being a prime example, she is wonderful in Gosford Park, The Calendar Girls, The Pledge and Last Orders, a really great actress who is finally getting her dues.
2: Meryl Streep - After watching Mama Mia I had to revise my opinion of Mrs Streep, her previous film The Devil Wears Prada, painted her as a joyless power mad woman, Mama Mia was so much fun and she made the film for me with her warm fun performance, Streep has been in some amazing films and is incredibly versatile to the point where no two films are the same, she has shared the screen with great actors and easily held her own and is a wonderful example of a grounded warm person who is simply an outstanding actress. For me highlights of her career include, Sophies Choice, Kramer v Kramer, The French Lieutenants Woman, The Deer Hunter, Manhatten, The Hours and adaptation, a great actress. Winner of 3 oscars.
1: Audrey Hepburn - The empitome of style, the coolest actress ever, she made some wonderful films and filled the screen with her personality, in Breakfast at Tiffany's who couldn't fall in love with her, she's irresistible. In Roman Holiday and Funny Face she has a kooky vulnerability that shines through. For me she may not be as great an actress as some of the others but her films have given me the most pleasure, she became more serious in films such as Charade and The Nun's Story, but will always be remembered for films such as My Fair Lady or Breakfast at Tiffanys.
So that's my list, obviously its totally subjective and i'm sure you'll disagree but its a nice mix of mainstream, slightly more classical actresses and people whose personality have just taken films to whole new levels.
I love my films so I've got a long list of favourite actors & actresses but I'll try & narrow it down.
1) Reece Witherspoon
Reece Witherspoon has been in everything from teen dramas (Cruel Intentions) to chick flicks (Legally Blonde) to Political thrillers (Rendition) to put it simply the girl can act & I think at the moment she's the highest paid actress in the world. Stick that in your pipe & smoke it Angelina! You've got Brad, you're the sexiest woman in the world but that's one title you don't have!
2) Jennifer Aniston
I love Jennifer Aniston, she's probably the most likeable actress around, she seems like she could be your best friend & would never steal your husband (Angelina I'm talking about you!) she's always done some great work. Most notably in friends where she plays Rachel Green a spoilt girl who has to learn responsibilities, the good girl which is probably her best film where she plays a wife in a marriage that's past its sell by date, she has an affair with Jake gyllenhaal (who wouldn't?!) one of my favourite films starring Jennifer Aniston is one of her less known films called Derailed, it's a thriller in which her & Clive Owen have are about to have an affair when a man walks in holding a gun, rapes her & robs them both. It has a great twist at the end which I didn't see coming.
3) Julia Roberts
You can't help but love Julia Roberts, there's just something about her that's so appealing. She's also done some great films like Pretty Woman, Notting Hill & Erin Brockovich which she was absolutely fantastic in. She's also had small roles in the Ocean films as George Clooney's wife.
4) Kate Winslet
The only English woman in the list & one of the most talented actresses from films like 'Titanic' to 'The Holiday' Kate Winslet is really a fantastic actress & one of the few to make it big in Hollywood.
5) Sandra Bullock
I think the entire female population loves Sandra Bullock, there's something about her that's unthreatening, she like Jennifer Aniston is like the girl next door. She's done some great films like Speed, Miss Congeniality & Premonition.
6) Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz is a fantastic actress with a whole list of great films under her belt like 'There's something about Mary', 'The Holiday', 'Charlie's Angels' & 'My best friends wedding' which also starred Julia Roberts.
7) Hilary Swank
In my opinion Hilary Swank is the best actress in this list, she's won 2 Oscars & appeared in some brilliant films such as the heartbreaking 'Boys don't cry', 'Million Dollar Baby' & 'Freedom Writers'.
8) Lucy Liu
Lucy Liu is probably the most famous Chinese woman on the planet. She's done some great roles including 'Kill Bill', 'Lucky number Slevin' & Charlie's Angels'.
9) Angelina Jolie
I suppose I had to include her no matter how irritating she is. She's been in 'Lara Croft', 'Kung fu Panda', & 'Wanted' which was a really good film.
10) Drew Barrymore
Does anyone remember how cute she was in E.T? Drew Barrymore has probably been around the longest out of all these women, she appeared in E.T as Elliot's little sister when she was about 4. Since then she's done some great films including 'Music & Lyrics', '50 First Dates' & 'Never been kissed'.
Have I missed anyone out?
I love watching films, and I'm constantly giving my opinion on who I think is good or bad in them. In fact, I often used to get told off as I would talk through the films to discuss them. Not anymore though, thanks to Sky Plus. In my top ten actresses list, I've based it on actresses in films, as I wouldn't be able to narrow it down to just ten if I were to include soap and drama actresses aswell. And you most definitely will not find Keira Knightly in my list. She ruined Pride and Prejudice for me! She's still not forgiven. So here goes...
1) Julia Roberts
Julia Roberts is my all time favourite actress. The queen of the chic films in my opinion. Her variety of roles is sublime and she is perfect in Pretty Woman. Her chemistry with Richard Gere in that film is amazing. It makes something so sleezy into somthing touching.
My favourite of the films she is in include Ocean's Eleven and Twelve, Mona Lisa Smile, America's Sweethearts, Erin Brockovich, Runaway Bride, Notting Hill, Stepmom, My Best Friends Wedding, The Pelican Brief and Hook. It's a shame there aren't more actresses like here around.
2) Sandra Bullock
Sandra Bullock is amazing! A close second to Julia Roberts due to her performance in Miss Congeniality. I can actually quote half of her script in this film. She has been in such a variety of different movies and pulls ever single role off. In each film, you couldn't begin to imagine it being as good, if she weren't to be in it. She is so beautiful aswell, everyone wishes they looked like her!
She's been in some of the best films ever created, for example Speed 1 and 2, A Time to Kill (written by John Grisham) and Practical Magic. Other preferred films of mine that she has been in are Two Weeks Notice, Miss Congeniality 1 and 2, Murder by Numbers, Crash and Premonition.
3) Reece Witherspoon
Reece Witherspoon is an actress that has grown on me as her films have come out. At first, I thoguht she would be a bit of a one hit wonder, but she has established herself in the film industry and now one of the best actresses around. The first film that I watched her in was Cruel Intentions and I thought that she was pretty average if I'm honest. But her performance in Legally Blonde is amazing and was the turning point for me.
My much-loved films that she has starred in are Legally Blonde 1 and 2, Sweet Home Alabama, Walk the Line, Just Like Heaven and Rendition. There is without doubt more to come from Reece and I look forward to it.
4) Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz was so funny in There's Something About Mary. It's a film I watched when I was younger at a 'sleepover' that I went to. Certainly taught us girls a few things. Her washboard stomach is certainly something I personally envy about her.
I also liked her in Charlie's Angels, The Sweetest Thing, In Her Shoes, What Happens in Vegas and The Holiday. She is also the voice of Princess Fiona in the Shrek films, something I didn't actually know until the second film.
5) Jennifer Aniston
Best known for her role as Rachel in friends, Jennifer Aniston is another great actress. She is someone that you always wanted to be or know in friends. She has a similar role in each of her movies, and is clearly stereotyped as a certain actress. However, she is good at this type of character, so why change what you are good at?
Her best films include Picture Perfect, Bruce Almighty, Along Came Polly, Derailed, Rumour Has It and The Break Up.
6) Jennifer Lopez
I know that she isn't strictly an actress but I think that the films she has been in, she has certainly made a good impression. I first saw her in Selena, a film that has me in floods of tears when I watch it. She shows a different side in films to the diva we know and love as J-Lo.
She's equally as good in The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan, Shall we Dance and Monster-in-Law.
7) Michelle Rodriguez
I don't think you'll find Michelle on many people's top ten favourite actresses' lists but for me she is outstanding. Something very different to your usual actresses. Comes actress as a bit of a tomboy, probably due to the roles she's undertaken in girlfight and SWAT. Girlfight was a film that I watched on telly with my mum due to the good write up it was given and we loved it. I even bought it as a christmas present this year for my brother so that I could watch it again (cheeky I know).
She's also amazing in her part in The Fast and the Furious, I should know as my brother made me watch it several times after we bought it.
She then had a spell in Lost which she was equally as fantastic in. I was devastated to find out that she was being killed off and feel that since she has left, the show has progressively gone downhill.
8) Jessica Alba
The most beautiful woman that has ever walked on this earth! Jessica Alba is not only gorgeous but a fantastic actress. My favourite films of hers include Honey, Fantastic Four, The Eye and The Love Guru. She is also in the most confusing and star filled film I have ever seen Sin City. I love her in Honey, she makes her relationships with the kids seem so real somehow.
9) Meryl Streep
Meryl Streep is the older actress in my list. She is extremely versatile in the roles she has played. Most recently she appeared as the mother in Mamma Mia and I was amazed at how good her voice was. She was brilliant in the film and made it as good as it was in my opinion.
Lions for Lambs, The Devil Wears Prada, Prime, Adaptation and Music of the Heart are my best films that she has been in. Her hard character in The Devil Wears Prada couldn't be more different to the kind and caring teacher she portrays in Music of the Heart.
10) Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is the action girl in my list. I love her performances in Mr and Mrs Smith and Gone in Sixty Seconds in particular. Such a quirky look gives her the edge over other actresses to get those action roles. Other favourite films of mine that she has been in include Girl, Interrupted, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Alexander, Changeling and Wanted.
I love the fact that she manages a family with her career, somehow makes me respect her that bit more. She hasn't got the biggest list of movies under her belt, but all of hers are quality.
Let me know if you agree or not? I'm sure you'll say others that I've forgotten but I think my list are full of talented women!
As dooyoo won't let the boys list our top ten sexy dooyoo girls on here (you're not supposed to use member's names in your reviews guys) heres my top ten totty. I'm sure there would be a bigger catfight than the 'Garfield the Movie' auditions if I did list the top ten dooyoo girls. One dooyoo girl already knows she's top of my list. Anyway, there are just too many gorgeous ones on here to keep it down to ten.
Sorry chaps but there are no pouting divas or platinum blondes in my list. Only 3% of blondes are actually blondes. The type of girls I go for are intelligent, vivacious, and curvy, although they rarely reciprocate, of course! Stick insect blondes like Michelle Phiefer and Pamela Anderson with plastic don't do it for me, although Cameron Diaz almost made it in, unitl ,that is, I saw her skin for real in Miami when I was working there. There's less blotches on one of George Lucas's aliens from the Degabar System! (Please don't correct me on the spelling!).
As a rule it's the less slap on a woman the more desirable she is with me, hence the term 'slapper', although don't let me stop you Cameron. Too much make-up turns guys off girls. The sexiest people look good when they step out of the shower. Err, girls, stop thinking about Daniel Craig and pay attention!
In no particular order...
<*><*><*> Konnie Huq <*><*><*>
Attributes: Mischievous, curvy and very Intelligent...
It has to be Konnie Huq to open, the bright and beautiful Cambridge Asian graduate and star of Blue Peter, having everything I like. She can pin a badge on me any day! Ever since that picture of her in the little white dress at the Spiderman 3 Premier (you know the one) my heart hasn't stopped racing. Vivacious, pretty girls with brains who have something to say are so hot and she has all the attributes I will ever need. With that sweetly pretty come and get me look and that no sex I'm Muslim thing going on she is just perfect.
<*><*><*> Salma Hayek <*><*><*>
Attributes: Latin Hot!
Latinas are the sexiest women on the planet and Salma at her peak with that lucky Python sliding all over her olive skinned perfection in the film Dusk till Dawn would even make Elton John get a stiffy. She is the sexiest and most sultry woman to walk the movie planet for me and I know how Elton feels (not literally, of course). At 42 she's beginning to lose it in a Sharon Stone sort of way but boy was she the sizzling sex siren in the 90s B+ Movie genref. Olive skin and big round almond eyes makes me melt. Those curvy Latin bodies have so many places to kiss.
Attributes: Ethnic mix perfection!
That exotic mix has turned out to be just about perfect. The girls may have gone week at the knees when Danny Craig walked out of the sea with a seahorse in his trunks but the boys had a hard time of controlling their sea cucumbers when she did the same . Anyone who has seen the film Swordfish will know how perfect that body is. She has enough white European genes (she's a 'scouser' by birth, believe it or not) to soften her black/Asian ones to make it huge in Hollywood and so appeal to all.
<*><*><*> Kelly Brook<*><*><*>
Attributes: Perfect natural curves and very good looking to boot!
If you want the perfect figure and the face to go with it then Kelly's your girl. When it comes to chicks you want to be naughty with then big boobs are essential playthings for the boys with that girl next door appeal. We don't want them too big but just big and firm enough to park a rolled up newspaper in-between - and see it stay there. As Kelly is beautiful too I would say she's most British guy's perfect date. She's not cheap looking and she seems a nice girl to be with, the complete opposite to the ghastly Jordan that many young English girls aspire to be, presumably because they can never be Kelly Brook. Ok she hangs off the latest pretty boy to get in the tabloids and perhaps not the most intelligent girl but boy does she have the numbers.
Attributes: Stunning natural beauty and those big blue eyes
Liv is this wonderfully perfect Hollywood beauty, the hybrid of naughty rocker Steven Tyler and his Scandinavian model misses. Those incredible puppy dog blue eyes would make any man fall for her and those legs are as long as Ben Affleck's face when she spurned his advances on the set of Armageddon(allegedly). If I was a geeky US college student her picture would be on my frat house bedroom wall. And this is not a Lord of the Rings thing. I thought those films were over-rated and I'm not into sci-fi chicks! Q Aerosmith track...
Attributes: the most beautiful girl I had ever seen as a kid.
She may not be the stunner today but in the 80s there was no teenager on this planet more perfect than her. She really was stunning and although her film career dribbled out to nothing after the 'Blue Lagoon', she just seemed to posses this incredible natural innocent beauty not seen for along time in Hollywood. You don't see women like that anymore, all too keen to be carved up by the Hollywood plastic surgeons.
Attributes: Sultry girl next door sexy.
I had a bit of a crush on Jennifer Connelly in the 90s with her Italian American beauty and curvaceous body and still cant get that beach picture out of my head of her naked in an obscure movie called the Hot Spot ,co-starring Don Johnson of all people. She is just so sexy in so many ways and, for a Hollywood Oscar winner, actually has real boobs, putting her just ahead of Salma -and possibly Halle -in the list.
Attributes: posh totty!
Odd choice I know but she was the English sports woman I really had a thing for, (I fancied Steffi Graff too but that's for another list on another day), a (rare) straight female tennis player with legs to die for.
That beautiful long flowing hair and those crystal blue eyes, a girl as athletic as she was sexy on the court keeping me occupied in my bedroom for many an hour in my teens. And I'm not talking about the tennis! Even today she's still good looking and by far the only thing worth watching at Wimbledon.
Attributes: Voluptuous and almond eyed middle-class temptress
Gordon Ramsay famously said she was gorgeous from the neck up because of her ample figure but for most guys we like natural women and don't seek perfection there. Like I said before stick thin isn't sexy and most of those birds smell of fag ash or have bad breath from veggie diets anyway. We want them to be interested in us as well as their reflection. I'm putting Nigella in to stick up for the bigger girl. We like them to snuggle up to and as long as it's all proportioned when we are happy! The fact she is really stunning can only help where a corset cant. And I bet Nigella would be the best fun to be around too. Conversation is very sexy in a woman.
<*><*><*>Maria Grazia Cucinotta<*><*><*>
Attributes: Busting out Italian sex pot
She is everything Nancy Delagio (Sven's ex) wish's she was. This Italian babe is incredibly sexy, absolutely mind boggling so in her most famous film, I`ll Postino (The Postman) .Those Latin curves just do it for me and this girl should have been a huge star. She just edges out the likes of Paz Vega and Penelope Cruz because she has the most amazing chest and sexy accent. In fact I recommend the above movie to all the boys, even if you don't like subtitles.
Why there isnt already a catagory for this discussion is beyond me! It is something i have always had a number one of (as well as usually a number 2 - 10!), and I probably always will.
So, half of you out there i think should be in this discussion, so feel free to add to the catagory or to comment on my order. I will give you the top 5, in reverse chronological order, to create a bit of suspence.
5. J-Lo, what can i say, i love a girl with a big round bum.
4. Holly Willoughby. I never watched dancing on ice really, although i did see what she wore on there, and it made me alot more interested than i was! And now she is the only reason i watch Xtra factor. Although Holly is by no means ovrweight or chunky, she isnt stick thin, and has great curves, like every women should have!
3. Jennifer Aniston. OK, so you may think this is strange as i just said i like curves, but this is more of a habbit of mine. A bit of a link to the entire scope of my love for women. I, like many others, loved f.r.i.e.n.d.s., and my favourite was Rachel Green! And i loved her!! I think this is as much to do with that character, as well as her undeniable beauty. Although i think there are better looking celebrities, i will always have a place for Jen!
2. Angelina Jolie. Again, you may think this is strange after i said i love Jennifer Aniston, and this woman took her man, etc. However, this is more on pure lust. I dont think i know anybody who doesnt find her very sexy, and although i think she is quite scary, it all just adds to how sexy she is!
1. Ok, this is a mixture of three points, firstly she is very sexy, secondly her character i know her for, is very sweet and lovely, and thirdly as i mentioned before, i love curvy women. Therefore my number one is Judy Reyes (Carla from Scrubs). I know this is a decision not many will agree with, as nobody i have told that she is my favourite has agreed yet. Yet the mixture of her beauty and "perceived personality" (i know she is probably not like that in real life, but in real life, im not going to meet her, so it doesnt make a difference), makes her my number one.
