Advantages: NHS provides basics

Disadvantages: Has never been funded to provide everything

Craig's actions are a kind and honourable deed which will secure his fame as a "good sort". The action of individuals giving to those less fortunate than themselves has always been a requirement of the NHS.
While the state has for the past 50 years provided basic healthcare for all it cannot supply an unlimited need without further assistance.
Before the NHS individuals and companies gave some of their wealth to assist those in need. With the state taking the reins of healthcare these individuals have considered that they no longer have a part to play.
How wrong they are.
Many individuals, companies, and communities still provide for those less fortunate than themselves both financially and with time. Both are limited resources but invaluable to those receiving them.
The NHS can only scratch the surface of providing everything for all within the means available to it. As a consequence financial pressures and "cuts" stories are common place.
Perhaps I can be so bold as to ask you the reader when you last gave your time or some hard earned cash ?
I for one am guilty of complacency but intend to do something about it.
Are you bothered enough or just too busy.............
