Advantages: Electric, entertaining, funny, charismatic

Disadvantages: We can't see him on TV every week.

The fact that The Rock, my idol as a child, is now officially classed as an 'actor', not even 'former wrestler', makes my heart sink a bit. As a wrestler, The Rock made me laugh, cry, sing and dance. He had it all. He really was the Great One. There are so many good memories of The Rock that I could share but I'm sure you're all aware of them anyway. When Rocky lifted a microphone to his mouth, the audience dulled their chants momentarily because they knew that something special, something unique and something memorable was about to come out of his mouth.

He had an amazing confidence, an arrogance about his persona that did the opposite of what it was originally intended; it really made you love him. The audience loved the arrogance. They loved his way with words. His in ring style perfectly complemented his personality; electric, entertaining and stylish. The impact that The Rock had on me as a child (and I'm sure an entire generation of WWE fans) was tremendous. And although it saddens me to think that we will never see the jabroni beating, loud pie eating, trail blazing, eye brow raising, all around, smack it down, people's champ, The Rock on WWE TV again, I'm happy to think that he has gone on to bigger and better things in his life. Because he deserves it. A man of his talent should not be resigned to competing in a minor form of entertainment. He should be playing in the big leagues, and he is now. He's hit the big time, appearing in Hollywood movies.

Speaking of The Rock's movie career, I think he's doing well for himself. None of his roles, excluding Doom, have been disastrous and I think people are actually starting to see that The Rock IS talented and he CAN act. The best example of this is his role in Be Cool. The Rock was the only thing about that movie to get any plaudits, and he was starring alongside John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Vince Vaughn; three big hitters in Hollywood.

Because of his influence on me as a youngster, I will always make an effort to watch his movies, all of which I have seen so far. Judging by interviews with his co-stars and ex wrestling pals, The Rock is a hugely nice guy and hasn't let success go to his head.

Although I am disappointed he has left WWE for good, I will always follow his career and I look forward to his next movie. He's a 7-time WWE Champion, Intercontinental Champion, Tag Team Champion, what more can he achieve? One day, an Oscar nomination. One day.

Summary: A superb entertainer.
