Advantages: I enjoy writing the reviews

Thought I'd add mine to the long list. Hopefully might give a bit of an insight as to where I'm coming from with my reviews, and might even help me think more about the reviews I write.


How did you discover dooyoo?

I think it was mentioned on a money saving forum.


Why did you join?

The site appealed to me for two reasons, firstly getting paid, secondly, I have opinions on things and I thought it might be fun and interesting to have the opportunity to write them up. As it turns out, I really do enjoy the writing and find that it is a good way for me to give my brain a work out as it doesn't often get that much of one in my work.



What was your first opinion on dooyoo?

It was a terrible review of a Father Ted DVD. Not having had to write anything more than a shopping list really for the last few years, I found it very hard to get the thoughts from my mind to the page. My second review (on the same day however just clicked and I found it really easy and I really enjoyed it.


Did you find it easy to get the hang of dooyoo?

I find that some things are easier than others to write. Sometimes I have quite a few different things I want to include and it's quite a struggle to structure the review in order to get the best out of it. Other times they just flow out nicely.


Did you read other opinions before you posted your first?

I did read quite a few, some were good others were not.


Do you write/no/some/many comment's?

When I first started out, I didn't write many comments at all but more recently I have been trying to write more. If a review is particularly good I will say so, I also feel it's a good place to mention things that might help the review to be more useful


When you click on newest reviews, do you read your friend's review's no matter what it is about?

No, I tend to read reviews about things which interest me. That said, there are some writers who's reviews I try to read as many as possiblebut that's mainly because I like their writing style or they tend to concentrate on areas I'm interested in.


Do you write your opinion's in one sitting?

Most if the time yes, however if I just can't get the words flowing I will leave it and come back to it (or not) at a later date.


Do you use a spell check?

I don't actually unless theres's something I'm not sure on the spelling of. I deal with words and publications all day everyday, setting more text than you can shake a stick at, so I'm used to checking for errors. That said, sometimes my fingers can't keep up with what I'm trying to type and the odd error creeps in. If I notice them I will amend them at a later date.


Do you think you can improve your chances of a crown if you suck up to a guide?

No idea, but I shan't be doing that, I would't know who any of them were really anyway.


Are you a member of a forum or chat room?

Yes, I'm a member of various forums, mainly computer/film/music related.


Does it get to you when member's praise you or condemn you?

I love it when people praise my reviews, as I'm sure everyone does. If I get a bad comment it's probably because I've missed something vital out of my review in which case I'll try to add it. Or it could be that the review isn't very good, in which case I look at it and take onboard what was bad about it and try to carry over those improvements to my next reviews.


What did you do with your spare time before dooyoo?

I still have spare time, but I share it with a bit of dooyoo. I tend to socialise with friends, watch films and TV etc


What do you wish for the future?

I'd love to be able to afford a nice house with my girlfriend, with a garden and a dining room so we could entertain more often. Then I'd love to start a family.

On here, I'd like a crown for one of my reviews, I've written some which I'm really happy with and would love to see them credited as being good.

Summary: It's a fun site, and quite satisfying. Not to mention useful!!!
