How did you discover Dooyoo?

I had read about it on the Money Saving Expert forums, but thought that a site that paid you to write opinions must surely have been dodgy, so I didn't even take the time to look at the site. A few months' later people were still talking about how great it was so in May 2008 I decided to check the site out. It wasn't until August that I wrote my first review, and I have been hooked since.

Q. Why did you join?

To be honest, I liked the idea of making more money. Now I do it because I like to share my opinion and to improve my writing, although the money is a nice bonus.

Q. What was your very first opinion on?

The first review was on my mobile phone, an o2 Orbit 2. Looking back at it there isn't much detail, or personal experience mentioned in it, no wonder it only received a Useful rating from the three members who rated it!

Q. Did you find it easy to get the hang of Dooyoo?

Yes, it thought it was very easy, although I must admit when I started posting, I did tend to churn out quite a few poor reviews in the course of a few hours. Now I tend to spend more time reading and rating rather than posting reviews.

Q. Did you read other opinions before you posted your first one?

Yes I browsed many of the newest reviews at the time, but it took a while to realise I should have been rating these.

Q. Do you write no/some/many comments?

I tend not to write comments like 'good review', so I guess I don't write that many comments. I'll write a comment when I would have liked further information in a review, or where I have nominated the review for a crown.

Q. When you click on the list of Newest Reviews, do you read your friend's opinion no matter what they're on/according to subject no matter who has written it/preferably the opinion of new members?

A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet, so I try to read as many reviews as possible, although if I see someone that I know writes great reviews, I will read there's. For new members I do tend to check their profile before reading any reviews to see if they are rating other reviews and whether there are just churning out reviews.

Q. Do you write your opinions in one sitting?

Generally no. I like to start a review, and then go back to it later, and ask myself what other information I would want to know if I was interested in the product. I'd then put that information in and maybe leave it for another day, have a final read through and only when I am happy with it would I post it.

Q. Do you use a spell check?

I do. My spelling isn't the greatest, so I write my reviews in Word then copy and paste them onto Dooyoo.

Q. Do you think you can improve your chances of a crown if you suck up to a guide?

I think crowns get awarded on how good a review it is, rather than who has nominated it or who your friends are.

Q. Are you a member of a forum or chat room?

No. I spend too much time on Dooyoo.

Q. Does it get to you when members praise or condemn you?

It's a great feeling when members rate my reviews highly. I'm quite a shy person who always though nobody else would be interested in my opinions, but using this site has actually boosted my confidence as I have realised people are interested in my opinions. Luckily I don't receive many negative comments, but if someone left constructive criticism I would try to improve my reviews based on the feedback.

Q. What did you do with your spare time before joining Dooyoo?

I spend a lot of time online doing surveys. Off-line, in the real world, I love watching films (really need to start reviewing some of them) and spending time with my partner.

Q. What do you wish for the future?

More crowns and to become the first millionaire from internet surveys and reviews!
