Advantages: Good way to put your feelings across, Improves your writing skill, and see what other people think about things, And get paid for it!

Disadvantages: Time consuming

Looking back over my opinions, here is my guide to write better opinions, and of course earn more money! My tips come from my past experiences, I never looked at any of these opinions to help me write better, I had to learn it the hard way, I just hope this helps anyone out there in writing better dooyoo opinions.

Dooyoo is great in principal, and unlike many programs actually translates into reality; I love it as it has improved my writing skills, I have met people with similar interests to mine, find out what to and not buy, and hey you also can get paid for it! I have been a member for some time now, ok so I don’t say that I am an expert, but here are some of my tips to improve your writing and get more reads.

1.
Start with the basics, if you write a good opinion it will be rated as very useful (hopefully!). In doing this your op can get put to the front of the queue for the product, and also appears in the Premier opinions list, which not only gets you more coverage, but you get £1 for each Premier opinion. So in short write for length and quality, not short and quantity. You will get more reads in the long run.

2.
If you are writting in a busy product section, there are likly to be several opinions similar to yours. So how do you get people to read yours out of all the others? Often people will look at the title of the opinion, or maybe the first two lines, so these need to be good, so the person will want to read on and rate as 'very useful'. Try to think of good titles, that are humerous or descriptive, as the title is a very important part of the opinion, and is often forgotten.

3.
If you really want to get top quality opinions that will get lots of reads, look to the basics. It needs to be well structured, if it is an argument show your side, if it is a product show its pros and cons, but in general don’t just waffle on about as much as you can on the product keep it to the point and i
nteresting. Also do some very simple things like type your opinion on Word or something similar which has a spelling and grammar checker, opinions can get locked for bad spelling and no one wants to read a badly spelt opinion as much as a perfect grammar even if the content is better. It is fast and really worth it, so go use a spell checker!

4.
Experience is the best way to improve your writing. Looking back at my earlier opinions I see how much I have improved, and you will too. Just keep at it and have faith that you can succeed. Keep writing at any available chance, if you are keen it will be easy, but you don’t have to be an A grade English student to write for dooyoo. Anyone can be successful on dooyoo, but as long as you keep writing regularly you will improve. Hopefully this opinion will give you a few good pointer to start off, but only you can do the rest.

5.
Write on the topics you know. For example if you are a big Sports fan there is little point on writing an opinion on home and garden. If you know a lot about a subject use it to your advantage by writing good quality stuff in that section, rather than stabbing in the dark and a lesser topic. Like before people will want to read quality opinions, so go with what your favourite and most knowledgeable topics are.

6.
Having said that try to branch out into other subjects to see how you fare and to add a bit of variety to your writing. Keep it simple and if you are not writing with the same quality as others drop out. Basically keep it so it is comfortable with you and if you feel you are interested and good enough to write about it go for it, but keep an eye on so it does not get out of control and don’t lose the quality.

7.
There is some logic to how opinions get reads, but it is fairly complicated. For example in the sports section an opinion on Manchester United will be more popular than an opinion on Exeter City as more people will
go to that category. However there is likely to be a lot more articles on Man Utd than Exeter, so people coming to that section may not read yours as there are so many on the same topic. Complicated, but generally I find that some categories are better read than others. For example I feel that I get several more reads in the Music or Computers categories than I do, say in the motors category. Also the time you put your opinion on the dooyoo site is complicated. For example if you post your op at two in the morning less people will be online than at six in the evening. However at six you will have more competition, as more people will be posting their own opinions, and push you off the new opinions list.

8.
If you are a new member look at other people’s opinions, especially the ones that have been crowned. See what they have done and what you are doing wrong, as this is the best way to improve. In saying that you obviously should not copy their work, it is very important for you to develop your own, unique writing style.

9.
If a member has read one of your opinions, really liked it and has gone back to your profile to read some more of your work, then the first thing they will see is the 10 or so opinions on the front page. It is unlikely they will go through five pages of opinions, even if there is a gem packed in there at the back. Make sure the best of your opinions are at the front of the members profile, as these will most likely to be read and will make the readers thing what a clever boy you are.

10.
Not many people can be bothered to read five pages of an opinion, even if it is all marvellous stuff, so keep the opinions down in size, but make sure none of the quality is lost. I’m not saying they should be tiny, but keep them to a good length and also keep the reader interested by adding humour (sorry I’m not good at it), page breaks and of course paragraphs.

11.
The dooyoo community is
important, so use it to your advantage to get more reads. By reading other peoples opinions, leaving cheerful and helpful comments and adding people to your circle of friends, people will (hopefully) return the favour and read and rate your opinions, just as you did to them. Try to make friends not enemies, and you will join the community and people do look out for each other and try to rate each other’s opinions. Also get talking to people and get all your mates to join as referrers to earn yourself a bit of extra cash.

I hope these tips help any new members, or anyone at all come to think of it. I don’t pretend to be an expert; these are just my personal experience and wanted to tell people my views. Dooyoo is great and long may it continue. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest, I feel much better now

It's a pity there wasn't an option for 'extremely useful' because this would definitely fall into it. Thanks. You'll have to make do with a VU therefore. :-)

Sorry didn't realise there was a difference between hall of fame an crowns. Just checked it out for myself, I assumed they were the same.
