Advantages: Power to the people

Disadvantages: -

Here are my principles to success on dooyoo:

1. Only write good quality reviews.

Churning out badly written reviews will get you some hits (and therefore some cash), but this is a bad approach long-term. Make sure BEFORE you submit a review:

- You know about the subject you are writing on
- You get your facts right
- No spelling mistakes! Use a Word processor then cut and paste into dooyoo
- Have a point. In order for a review to be rated “Very Useful” it has to educate the reader in some way. Ask yourself “do I have a unique angle or something important to add?”

2. Use more than 75 words.

I have yet to see a review of less than 100 words that is actually useful. Don’t waffle, but present the facts clearly and precisely. An ideal length would be between 150-600 words depending on the subject. (In case you’re wondering, this review is 517 words long!)

3. Use punctuation.

Full stops, commas, speech marks – they all add to the readability of a review. Although the editing facilities are not great on dooyoo, you can still use new lines between paragraphs, numbering of points, etc. Make your review as easy on the eye as possible.

4. Create a personality.

Add some information and a picture to your profile page. Write on subjects you feel passionately about (positively or negatively).

5. Read and rate.

This is crucial and cannot be underestimated. Read and rate (honestly) as many reviews as you can, this will put you in touch with many new people and I usually find at least 1 in 3 people I rate will read one or more of my reviews.

6. Leave comments.

This adds to your personality and will almost certainly make that person look at your profile and probably read a review or two.

7. Careful who you trust!

Building a Circle of Friends is
absolutely essential to be a success, so be very careful who you put on your list. Any discerning member will check out who you trust before trusting you themselves.

I generally need to read 3 or more very good reviews before I put someone on my Circle of Friends, but once on there I will keep reading their new stuff.

8. Be part to the community

As members of the community we have an opportunity to build an influential, informative and safe place on the internet to share ideas and opinions. Leaving comments, emailing members and promoting the site are all good ways of improving the community feel.

9. Have fun!

I know you get paid for writing, but the novelty of that will wear off over time. Enjoy expressing yourself and your opinions. Most of all enjoy being part of a community.

Thanks for your guide. I found it very useful and you are right about reading reviews of those who have left an opinion. Thats how I found you. I am the comet sufferer! I have taken note of your points and will put them to good use in the future as I am fairly new to this site I need all the help I can get!
