Well that is the question i am asking myself, how can this be called a war?

If we go back tot he begining of this terrible nightmare, it was september the 11th 2001. New York City was just waking up, the hustle and bustle of the streets, were begining to wind down as workers were begining yet another day at work. I was at home with my friend and husband, having a late lunch. Neighbours was on the tv in the background, and we was generally chatting. Then the news was interupted with a bulletin stating that the World Trade Centre in New York, was on fire, apparently due to a plane smashing into it.

As the newsreaders were speculating how this could of happened, live, right in front of our eyes, another jet slammed into the other building. A shiver ran through my spine, we were all speachless. This was not real surely? It looked more like a Die Hard movie than real life. Then reports were coning in that a third had crashed in Washington.

The speculation had ended, we all new. America had been targeted for a terrorist attack. What live pictures came later throughout the day and night were harrowing, and will never be forgotton. All those lives lost, wasted, and the reason was not known.

Then it was established that Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist networks were behind the attack, and justice was sought. the Taliban, as we know, were not forthcoming, and the decision to fight the Taliban was made.

Night after night, the bombings continue, day after day. We are still searching for Osama Bin Laden?? Or are we? The Taliban as we all know by now came into power in Afganistan in the late 90's, enforcing new strict rules, on the already religious country. Women were taken out of employment, forced to cover themselves, rights taken away from them. Ordinary men, were forced to fight for the Taliban, with the penalty for not cooperating would be death for himself, and his family.

The country was p
ut into a state of shock, in a fear, that would never leave them. Men and women are continually executed in front of the public, to deter them from going against the Taliban regieme.

This is not a country that hates the USA and the western world, this is a country that is FORCED to hate the western world. Lets not forget that. When we eat our dinner tonight, lets not forget those children, who have no father and mother, because they spoke of what they believed in and were killed, who are homeless, have no food, and soon will starve to death because winter is on its way, but no aid is on its way. They are left to rot, tarnished with the same label as the country's evil rulers. Lets not forget those innocents, that right now are being killed, while the fat cats of evil are still enjoying a full and plentiful life.

I hope that the Taliban are overthrown soon, and i hope Osama Bin Laden, and all linked networks are found, and tried.

We will never forget those who died on the planes and in the twin towers on september 11th 2001, but please, lets not forget those innocents in Afganistan who are dying too, they are not evil, the evil ones are on the run, but soon we will catch up with them, and soon we will have our revenge.

Peace -x-

True about the children. This is a difficult thing to talk about not only because of the subject but because everyone thinks they know best and whats happening but i expect there is a lot the general public don't know and never will.

Hi.
Good op.
But think on. The children in Afghanistan were starving and orphans long before the present war started, and the Coalition is doing everything in its power to ensure that as much aid gets through to the refugees as is possible.
Remember as well the 1,000's of children left orphaned by the evil of bin Laden when he murdered their parents in the Twin Towers.
