Theo Walcott- the future Thierry Henry or not? In my opinion definitely not. Theo Walcott is now 20 years of age and joined Arsenal from Southampton for a fee of £5million which may rise to £12 million.
When he first joined Arsenal, I had high hopes that he would be the new Thierry Henry and the expectations were very high. However, he is now injury prone and does not have any real class to add to his unquestionable blistering pace. The key moments for me in his Arsenal career so far have been his incredible run against liverpool in the Champions league to set up Adebayor late on, and his goal against Chelsea in the Carling Cup final.
I with many others thoroughly enjoy watching Walcott play and have been lucky enough to see him play a few times at the Emirates. He does work hard, but I just think that technically he is not upto scratch.
I was lucky enough to meet Theo Walcott personally and he is a really nice man. But, on the football pitch he just does not cut it for me. However, just at 20 years of age, he has a long career ahead of him and as an arsenal and England fan, I hope that he does fulfill his potential and go on to be a world class player.

So Theo Walcott, is he going to be a great player or is he totally over-rated?
Its a big question and one that doubters will say still hasn't been resolved. I'd disagree with this comment to a point but accept that he does still have a lot to do to match the ridiculous hype the press have heaped on him.
Walcott has not done much in his career but has become an integral part of the Arsenal team and their downfall coincided with his injury, he has proven to have a real eye for goal and that he can outpace any player in the world at international, premier league or champions league level, he currently plays right wing and his pace takes him past most people, meaning he can cut the ball back for Adebayor, Van Persie or Eduardo to score easily.
Walcott has an exceptional future and he will eventually adapt to become a striker, possibly playing off of Rooney, allowing Rooney to play his clever passes to a striker with pace to burn who is confident making intelligent runs.
Walcott has six England caps and three goals, all scored in the Croatia World Cup qualifier, he destroyed Croatia that day and will come to be a vital part of an emerging national team in due course.
It makes me laugh how people go from criticising Theo, to praising the life out of him. One minute he is the best thing since sliced bread and the next he isn't progressing as he should!
Walcott joined the Gunners during the January transfer window in 2006 from Southampton Football Club. He was subject to lots of press due to his young age and we all know how the English press like to talk about important matter (not). After a fairly slow start to his career, he is now making a massive impact in the squad.
My most memorable memory of Theo was his setting up of the goal for Adebayor in the Champions League game before they were knocked out (unfairly).
Theo has now secured a regular spot in the gunners side thanks to his tremendous pace. He is a firm favourite with all gooners and we have the belief that he could be as good if not better as Thierry Henry!
Theo goes out with Melanie Slade, his childhood girlfriend and they have appeared on a television show, questioning each others knowledge about one another. It was on this show, it was revealed he is more scared of Arsene Wenger than he is of Mel's dad and his own.
Theo! Theo! Theo!
