There ought to be a law about that!

Advantages: as above

Disadvantages: as above

In my opinion there should be a law which governs baby change facilities, stating that adequate baby change facilities should be provided in all service areas, supermarkets, large food outlets / shops and public toilets. By this I mean (warning - I'm climbing on the soapbox as we speak!)

Not only in the ladies...

I don't necessarily want to change a nappy. It's not necessarily my turn, just because I'm female! Seriously though, this drives my husband mad - he's a part time house husband and often takes my son out for the day. The times he's had to change him on benches or in the car or make a stop at a supermarket because some people still only put baby change in the ladies!

Not in the disabled loo if you've got the choice...

Why should the disabled have to put up with waiting while I change a ripe nappy on an uncooperative toddler?

Near the wash basin please..

It's bad enough juggling to start with, but if the taps are on the other side of the room as well..

Try and let us get a pushchair in there..

If you're on your own, you can't just leave it outside. And if the door has a tight spring as well as there being no room - I've nearly done myself an injury many times!

Please empty the nappy bin...

Well, nuff said, I think!

Why?

Because parents hage human rights too!
It makes excellent economic sense - if parents haven't got what they need, they go elsewhere or shop at home on the net and all our towns suffer.
Because until we make people do something they won't
If you don't give good facilities you'll have to watch us doing it in public...

There you go. Rant over. Let's finish on a positive note. My baby change oscars go to...

Supermarkets generally, but Morrisons in particular - my local one has a double change room with separate toddler loo and separate breast feeding room. With murals and a mobile and always spotless. Excellent.

BHS - smaller rooms, but always bright and clean. They make a real effort.

IKEA - and they have a microwave and play area in the corner of the cafe.

Anyone else got any nominations either positive or negative?

Thanks for reading!
