Disadvantages: It's just rude

Now this is not a particularly serious review so do not read if you want to read something very serious.

Now I think there should be a law about rude people. By that I do not mean people who talk about sex all of the time or people who stroll around naked or anything like that. What I do mean is a person whose attitude is generally very rude. This includes the following;

Shop Assistants – Well who would want to work on a Sunday?
Train Passengers – It does not take much time to wait for the people in front of you to get off first.
Shoppers – Pushing queues just why?
A person in the street – If you knock into somebody it does not take much to say sorry.
Salespeople – If we do not want your product then do not take it personally.
Swearing – why?

Now I am sure I have missed out so many people I could include. Now I thought of writing this review today because only this morning I was jabbed in the side by a person who wanted to get off the train as quick as possible, served by a shop assistant who could obviously not care less about the job and I had to remind her for my change and ask if I could have a bag, (even though this should have been offered as I had about 8 items) and also was subjected to hearing the most vulgar language ever from a guy who I think had got dumped from the sounds of it.

Now I do not like moaning really but I feel I have to because many people are just plain rude.

Shop Assistants:

Let’s start with shop assistants. Now does it take much to smile? No! When I used to work in Debenhams I was the friendliest person there and therefore generated the most sales. Now I admit I hated working weekends and late nights but I thought hey im getting paid for it so ill make the most of it. Sometimes on a Sunday I would stand there with nothing to do and no-one to talk to but as soon as I saw a customer I would always smile. Why? If you smile it tends to make other people smile therefore making the world a happier place. Everybody has to have been subjected to the miserable faces at shops who do not care and just hold their hands out waiting for you to pay them although they have only mumbled how much it is. Please if you see any of yourself in this if you work in the shop then just smile. A few weeks ago I left my train station and there was a guy handing out leaflets for a local restaurant. He did not smile and just outstretched is arm with a leaflet hoping somebody would take it. I took a leaflet one day and said to him do you know if you just smiled at people and maybe said ‘good morning, here you go’ then you would give away a lot more. He did this and now when I see him in the morning he gives a lot of them away and seems a lot happier doing so.

Train Passengers.

Yes I know it’s early and yes I know we are all thinking we have to go to work but no that is no reason why you should be rude. The first problem is getting on the train with everybody pushing and shoving, the second is finding a seat and then the third is getting off the train. I myself hate getting on the train and always stand at the back as I watch people get pushed in front of and people darting in-between people. I could even understand if eth train I catch had limited seating but there are always seats there. Finding a seat is awful however sometimes when people think it is acceptable to have a seat for them and a seat for their bag. I hate this and always ask them to move it and they always look at you with a face of pure disgust. I could understand if people had about ten bags that you couldn’t put on the floor next to you but I have seen people do it with just a handbag. Also on this subject is when people are rude enough to sit in the outside seat so people do not like to ask them to move. Getting off the train is a battle to as I know everyone wants to get off but the way people do it is so rude. I say no more pushing and shoving and everybody should just take their time.

-----

Shoppers.

How annoying is it when somebody jumps the queue? It is like yes we have all been standing here for the fun of it for the past hour but don’t you worry and you just go in front. This annoys me greatly although maybe it shouldn’t but I just believe everybody should wait their turn. I mean if I have ten items and the person behind me only has one I almost always let the other person go first but I just hate people who want to get everywhere in a hurry.

-----

Salespeople.

We have all had it, you are sitting at home enjoying your favourite programme on tv when the phone rings. You answer it and the dreaded voice answers back letting you know they are from a sales company. Immediately you want to put the phone down and ignore them but I always give them the benefit of the doubt and just say ‘I am ever so sorry but I do not need your services’ and then wait for them to say ok. What I hate is when they now start to push you and push you hoping you will give in. the thing about sales is that they think everybody should want their product but they should realise that if we say we don’t they should not push it further as they just sound awful and our original good mood with them has now turned bad.

-----
Swearing.

I will admit I do it sometimes, who doesn’t? I hate it though when people use swear words for every sentence in public. I do not want to hear it, my Mom and Nan do not want to hear it and I am sure that lady with the toddler does not want to hear it but no they still do it. I think swearing is one of those things that you should be very aware of the company you are keeping and act accordingly. Children are the ones to look out for as they repeat it so it drives me mad when I see people freely swearing when there are children around as it makes them aware that the words are there. Also it gives many people a bad appearance if they swear so please when you do it please just be aware of your surrounding company.

Now I think that with a law about rude people the world would be a much friendlier and nicer place.

Tell me who do you think are the rudest people?

Thanks for reading.
