Advantages: They make me smile
Disadvantages: None
It was my birthday yesterday so I am in a generally happy mood so I decided to share the things that make me happy as I have enjoyed reading other reviews in this category. I am generally a happy person and I am enthusiastic and I hope you enjoy my review.
~ Family ~
I love spending time with my family. I live with my mam and dad and see my grandma and granddad most days. My mam and dad are brilliant and are always there when I need them. They always manage to cheer me up. I have one older sister, Joanne and she has three children. They live about 25 miles away and they come to my house once a fortnight, and I see them for a couple of hours after I've finished work. Darius is 11, Dominick is 8 and Toni is 2 and a half. They mean the world to me and they always brighten up my day when I see them. I love being an auntie and I spoil the kids loads :-) they are each coming to stay at my house individually in the summer holidays and I can't wait! I'm a big kid at heart so I can't wait to make cakes and take them to the park :-)
My mam has four brothers and a sister who all have children so I have lots of aunties, uncles and cousins. Every summer we have a family get together in my uncle Stephen's back garden. This is one of my favourite days of the year, as I love seeing everyone. We also hire a bouncy castle for all the children (which still includes me even though I'm 19! - someone needs to make sure the children are ok!) I look forward to this day all year round and I take a day off work especially. One of my cousins has just given birth to twin girls so I'm looking forward to meeting them at this year's get together. My parents will meet them before me but I work weekends.
~ Friends ~
I love spending time with my friends. My best friend, Emma (enz_angel), is at Leeds University studying paediatric nursing, so I don't see her as much as I'd like. However, I see her every time she comes home and it's always great to catch up. We keep in touch via email and text and I don't know what I'd do without her, as she is fantastic! She is always there with kind words, words of encouragement or advice and just generally for having fun! She's doing really well at university and I'm really pleased for her.
I went out for a meal last night (for my birthday) with Emma and two of our other friends. It was really good fun and was a lovely end to my birthday :-)
I have lots of other friends too from various places. I still keep in touch with some of my friends from school and also from my drama group. I have made loads of new friends at university too and I just like spending time with them as they always make me smile.
~ People being nice ~
I love it when people are nice and friendly, whether it's someone smiling or somebody having a chat at work when it's quiet. It costs nothing to be nice so I always try to be friendly and kind and love it when other people are too.
~ University ~
Although it's really hard work and I'm getting stressed about my exams I have really enjoyed my first year at university. For those of you that don't know I'm at Newcastle studying Speech and Language Sciences. In yesterday's lecture we were learning about the university clinics that I will be doing placements in next year. I'm quite nervous about it but it also makes me excited and happy to think that I will be helping people and putting the theory I've learned in my first year into practice.
~ Summer ~
Although I suffer from hay fever I still love the summer. I love wearing my summer dresses and being able to go out and about in my car. I also usually go on holiday in the summer with my parents and I like exploring new places or just lazing by the pool. Everyone always seems happier in the summer.
~ My car ~
I love my blue Peugeot 107, Jem. I have had her for just over a year and she's great. I love having my own car and being able to go anywhere I want in it. It's just a lovely little size for me and it makes me happy whenever I'm driving it.
~ Photos ~
Any of my friends or family will be able to tell you that I love photos. I always have my camera. I love taking photos of my friends and family but I enjoy looking back on them even more! I take pictures of my nephews and niece whenever they come to my house and I usually have my camera at the ready when going out with my friends.
I take photos at our family get together every year and I make a little 'magazine' to give to everyone so they can remember the day. I also do this whenever we have family parties etc. I just intended it to be a one off at our first family get together 5 years ago but everyone loved it so much I make one every year now. :-)
I hope you have enjoyed reading about some of the things that make me happy. It's made me happy just writing about them :-)
Thanks for reading!
