Advantages: Just thinking of the things on the list make me smile!
Disadvantages: None!
Ok thought I should have a go at this! In no particular order the things that make me happy are...
1 Michael Ball
I can see you rolling your eyes at the ceiling there, thank-you! I love him. I'm sure I'm his youngest fan at 33 and I stand a chance of being the one and only Mrs Ball one day! I've been a huge fan for years now and I own all the DVDs, Cd's and am yet to see him live. Hearing his voice gives me goosebumps and if I see him on tv I'm in my eliment. He takes me away from it all and I adore his voice and I love musicals and I think he's fit as .... lol Yep he makes me smile bit time!
2 Take That songs
Every one of them has been a hit and most were in my youth. Alot of memories are wrapped up in these songs and it was a sad day when they split for me. My ex bf in '93 was Chris and he delighted in breaking the news and breaking my heart. We were sat in his crappy old mini when he told me. Was my first heartbreak actually. Now I smile everytime I hear them cos they're back together and back with us where they belong churning out the hits once again and in fact has transported me back to my youth cos it's like they never went away! Also makes me happy cos as men in there 30's now they are looking great and got a new a fan base as well as their old one and therefore I don't feel so old now!
3 Sunshine
This one is very important to me. I was overweight for years and years. I mean seriously overweight. At one time I was 16 stone and a size 22 in tops and 20 in trousers. I'd never wear a skirt, shorts or anything skimpy at all. I was hot when the sun shone cos I tried to cover up the best I could. Now at 9 and half stone I can wear whatever I like, less is more! At size 8/10 I got hotpants and summer dresses at the ready. One hint of sun and I'm out in it! I love to lie in the sun with a decent book, glass of pop and large oversized shades on my head and feel the sun kissing my body instead of burning all my oversized clothes cos I was in hiding! I love the outdoors and nature and it's no fun in the typically British wind and rain after all!
4 Peace and quiet
Another really important thing to me. I'm not keen on noise. I was brought up as an only child so am used to a quiet household. I can't sleep in front of a television like some folks, hell I can't even sleep if there's a bird singing at my window! This has all got worse since having genuinly noisy neighbours and never getting any quiet time. Neighbours one side have been evicted and the other one isn't so noisy but there is a noise most of the time. So when it is quiet I love it.
5 Eating out
I love to dine out. I eat out alot and I love cusines from all over the world. I love trying new dishes and I like gorgeous resteraunts and nice surroundings. A lazy meal with a bottle of Rose is my idea of heaven. I like to be waited on and looked after and this to me is luxury! I guess this comes from when I was growing up and we always ate out for 'special occasions'. So I always dress nice and make a night of it!
6 Photographs of my dog, Max
I had to have my yorkshire terrier put down just over a year ago. He was so ill it was cruel to watch him struggling with a heart problem in which he couldn't breath properly. At 14 he was virtually blind and definetly senile. He was stunningly beautiful and very naughty but because of his good looks and way he had of cocking his head to the side and kind of looking in your direction but not quite due to blindless he could get away with murder. He was so bad that if left alone in the house (well left with our other yorkie zach) he would get very cross and head bang doors and stuff (all 6lbs of him) and we'd come back to blood everywhere and he'd of bashed his head up.
We tried everything to stop him doing these things including tacking cushions to doors and allsorts but he just got so mad and he'd pee up walls and the lot! We adored him anyway and he got spoilt rotten and having him put down was most awful decision we (my mum, stepdad and me) had to make. I still miss him everyday and as I type this my eyes are welling up so I'll just say that looking at pics of him makes me smile simply cos we gave him a nice life, always did our best for him, taught him the difference between a tin of chum (he never ate) and fillet steak (he ate the most!) and we couldn't have loved and adored him more! My little stunner and I miss him deeply!
7 Mike Mendoza (Talksport)
I did love talksport up until a couple of weeks ago when James Whale got the sack for publicly suggested that us (the listeners) should vote for Boris Johnson in the elections back in March. He only got the boot this week after offcom decided Talksport had to take action. I actually heard the show and James himself said he had to be careful of what he said so not to influence the people but to be fair he did try to cross the line alot and the producer had to dump alot of stuff he said so us. We (the public) couldn't hear it but you could tell some stuff wasnt being broadcast. Gutted I am though cos now a plum has got his slot in the week and I don't like him and Ian Collins on through the night isn't serious enough for my taste.
However my little gem of a presenter is Mike Mendoza, weekends, 1am-6am and occasionally he fills in for other presenters at night. If he goes I seriously won't be listening to the station any longer. At time of writing (Thursday) I am smiling knowing he is on air all weekend. If talksport take away my smile I'll be most angry! I like the way he talks about himself and his past but then can switch to much more serious debates in a split second. I think of him as a composer, leading the way and setting the pace of the show. He's a very clever man and most of his views are just sensible one's though the callers who call in on a full moon night can be hilarious. If you haven't listened to the station it's 1053 and 1089 mw or station 723 on freeview and can be accessed on other stations such as sky but I'm not familiar with them as I don't have it!
8 My friends children
I'm not into kids just for the record. I don't have any and I don't go ga ga for them even thought I'm a qualified nursery nurse. I see them as little people, with faults that grow up like the rest of us. I guess I'm just not maternal. However my friends children are completely different. Even I go ga ga for em! Simon is 18, Charlotte is 12 and Nicolas is 9. Amazing, beautiful and each one full of heart. They make my spirits soar and me, well I'm proud to know my influence however small is in there somewhere! I smile at the thought of them and yes they are not perfect kids. Definetely not but they've touched my hard heart and I adore each one of them. Funny cos other friends have babies and toddlers and I can't be bothered at all with them. Theye ok but it really isn't my scene yet Pinks kids (their mum and my best friend) I'm putty in their hands!
My Friends....
I love, respect and admire all of my friends. I have many I'm pleased to say and each one is totally different. I only have 3 male friends and the rest are women. Very strong, all unique and different. I seem to surround myself with very strong, opinated people. I like loud characters (though not rude of chavy!) Through my youth I had somewhat flaky friends. People that used and abused me and sometimes people who ripped me off, lied to me and tried to bed my bfs etc! However as I've matured I have put together a much better group of friends and social scene. I don't mind what my friends do in their personal lives and I don't judge or advise unless I really have to but the one thing I demand is some respect as a human being, for my friends to realise I have feelings and for them to also realise I'm not just some one thats there for them cos I'm not a sounding board and that friendship works both ways. I have amazing friends that treat me well, that are always there and I think I've done very well in life!
My friends are never straightforward, hell I like a complicated life! Life is never boring here in Coventry thats for sure. I like making new friends and believe you can never have too many in life! My friends ar precious to me and even though I do date I never put my friends second. I have to have balance and I do that very well now at my grand old age!
10 Boxed sets of dvds
Because I like peace and quiet I don't have the tv on unless there is something on I percifically want to watch. Like now I'm doing this there is no other noise in background. I'm strictly a one thing at a time type of girl! Now we all know there is very little on the tv at the best of times so I collect series that I loved on the television from years ago. I got series one and two of Dinnerladies and then I got series one and two of Rome, then got all four series of Cutting It, and just got the three series of Gimme Gimme Gimee. I'm waiting for two series of The Thin Blue Line to arrive as I type from Ebay! I still have one's I want such as Porridge and Open All Hours etc there are always more I think of! I actually watch my dvds so often I can quote lines at drop of a hat which actually makes me a little bit of a geek I guess!
So there we go my top 10 of things that make me smile, and thanks for reading lol
Summary: Read me flipping review lol x
