Iwan Thomas is a straight sort of guy. Honest, hardworking and not flash at all. He has been troubled with injury all season and just when he has got over it, he has hardly any time to put in as performance to impress the selectors and go to Sydney. Yes, I suppose he could have taken something just to give him a boost, get a fast time and get on that plane. But, like I said, that isn't Iwan. Iwan Thomas made a big appeal to try and get into the British 400m squad for the Sidney Olympics, with a time that just wasn’t fast enough. Yes, he maybe the best talent produced by British 400m for many years but with his recent injury and the fast approaching Olympics his has just not been fit enough. In my opinion he is rushing back and should let his injury heal completely before attempting to challenge Michael Johnson for the number one spot.
