Advantages: Gets more people to Dooyoo

Disadvantages: Can get you in trouble

Having used the Invite a friend, and seen the benefits and drawbacks of it, I think it is interesting to discuss the best way to recruit new members. I sent out an 'Invite a friend' email to about 15 or 20 friends, from these only two replied. Over the past year they have followed completely different courses of action. One of my friends (who goes by the name M O U L D) has contributed occassionally and added some very good articles and used generally used the site as it was intended. My other friend (who shall remain nameless) was the complete opposite, He never once wrote an opinion (i think) and only read my opinions. Within a few months Dooyoo police emailed me and asked me a series of questions. I was quite taken aback by the allegations that were made and immediately rang my friend who told me he "couldn't give a ****" and was "just trying to be helpful" to me. I replied to Dooyoo and urged my friend to the same and the matter was resolved. M O U L D continues to contribute occasionally and has never had any trouble with Dooyoo police.

Because of this I haven't used the 'Invite a friend' option since even though I know many people who would be interested. The thing is I am not just going to tell them about the site because if they are going to contribute I would like my £1. Call me tight if you want but if it is on offer I'd like to have it. So what do I do? I want to invite them but if they turn out to be a problem I don't want Dooyoo police writing me annoying emails. I would like to see Dooyoo offer some sort of guarantee that they will not penalise users for the actions of people that they have referred. I understand that people believe this may make it easier for people who abuse the system by creating multiple accounts, I disagree. If you recognise that someones friend is just rating the person who referred them then delete their account and take the miles off the person who referred them, ea
sy. I do not believe you should penalise people who read all their friends ops though as long as they are also reading other peoples. I have read all of my friends opinions, not in some effort to earn him 50p, but because I am more interested to see what a friend is writing about than someone I do not know, I still read other people though.

I believe that Dooyoo needs to clarify their position on recruiting new members and if they are going to hold us responsible for the actions of our friends then they should take the 'Invite a friend' option away. None of us are that bothered about the £1 on offer anyway but I am not going to turn it down just because of the silent threats made by Dooyoo police.

If you are reading this Dooyoo then clarify your position, you are not going to upset anyone by taking away this option but you can easily please people by making it less threatening.

Good point, I agree to a point, the police were probably just suspicious of a multiple account and were doing there best to keep the abuse to a minimum.

I know I'm not GR-Design, I don't know you well enough to know if you are.
