As a vacuum cleaner collector (and there are quite a few of us around, mostly men but sometimes women too), the amount of machines I have bought and have been given freely by friends and associates who claim that their vacuums were faulty have turned out to be rather minimal repairs needed due to the original owners' ignorance. You wouldn't neglect your toilet since it deals with getting rid of human waste so why should it be any different with a vacuum cleaner when it deals with traffic dirt brought into your home not to mention dust mites?
