Disadvantages: Liz Hurley

10. (pronounced leh-nerd skin-nerd)/Lynyrd Skynyrd

A great debut album by anyones standards. There's a great spirit and energy in every song but Tuesday's Gone,Simple Man and Freebird stick in your mind.Freebird is an amazing song,it builds up to a five minute long guitar solo which just has to be listened to with the volume on full blast.Nice.

9. Are You Experienced?/The Jimi Hendrix Experience

I have a CD with six bonus songs,so I'm not sure which ones were originally on the album when it was released. If Leynyrd Skynyrd's one was good, this is THE debut album. It's what guitars were made for, full of infectious riffs and searing solos. But it's not all about guitar, this a complete album, with meaningful lyrics and drum n' bass to kill for.Includes Foxylady,Purple Haze,Fire and Manic Depression.A testament to the man.

8. Blood Sugar Sex Magic/Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Definately an album for guys this. The lyrics are a tad on the raunchy side when he's in the mood, and very funny. But there is a gentle side to the band,I Could Have Lied and Under the Bridge are the proabaly the best songs on the album, although Breaking the Girl and Apache Rose Peacock give them a run for their money. The Chilli's finest hour, much better than Californacation.

7. Kid A/Radiohead

A monumental album.Radiohead became fed up of simple guitar rock after Ok Computer and decided to experiment, which is good news for us as this some of their best work. They were slaughtered in the media for this, they saw it as being 'willfully obscure'.But the main thing is that it sounds good.A world away from the meaningless pop crap floating around the toilet bowl that is the current music scene.

6. 13/Blur

Blur's first truly great album.Blur(the album) started it but this is where Blur grew up.An emotional and tort
ured album that was written after he broke up with his long time girlfriend. In Tender they have one of the songs of the decade,Swamp Song,Trim Trab and No Distance Left to Run show just how good Blur have become.

5. Achtung Baby/U2

A genre defining record,U2 took a break, came back and recreated rock for the nineties.U2 were proabably at the height of their powers at the time, everything is perfect, from Bono's amazing vocals down to the very last beat of Larry's drum.Includes u2's best song,One,as well as Mysterious Ways,The Fly and Even Better Than The Real Thing.

4. Revolver/The Beatles

The most critically acclaimed, and influential record of all time. This is the album which really illustrated how much better The Beatles were than everybody else.It kicked off an era of change for the music world.Ranging from the beautiful Here,There and Everywhere to strange but compelling Tomorrow Never Knows,a record you simply have to own.

3. The Joshua Tree/U2

The first of U2's masterpieces,it's an album full of anthems. Each song is charged in emotion and is a pleasure to listen to.Expertly played and Bono's voice is at its best.Features the quintessential love song With or Without You.

2. Ok Computer/Radiohead

Ok Computer elevates Radiohead above the crowd the way Revolver did for the Beatles. It's dark, and at times depressing, but it's brillant throughout. It's different but not enough to give a hint as to what Radiohead did after it.Contains the song of the decade Paranoid Android,as well as Karma Police and No Surprises.

1. Abbey Road/The Beatles

Although not as important as Revolver,Abbey Road represents a time before everything fell apart,a time where The Beatles were at the pinnacle of their talent. This is as good as it gets.Harrison pitchs in with the brillant Something, even Ringo
has a listenable effort in Octupuses Garden. The first part of the album features songs such as Come Together and You Never Give Me Your Money, while the second half is full of half songs and guitar riffs.
