Advantages: They are all great to me
Disadvantages: none
I was reserved about sharing my top 10 albums with you all, as my favourites usually change on a daily basis depending on what kind of mood I am in. I thought long and hard and then came up with my favourite ever albums; the ones that I listen to constantly and that never seem to go out of favour. I decided to write a little bit about each album rather than a full review of each one so hear goes: 1: OK Computer(Radiohead)...This is probably my favourite album ever, the haunting lyrics, the classicly arranged music and the fact that it can be listened to at any time makes it possibly the most brilliant album ever written in my opinion. I listen to this album at least once a day and each listen holds a different meaning to me. 2: The Man Who(Travis)...Again a fantastic album with the brilliant tracks "Writing to reach you", "Driftwood" and "Turn" on. The band just reach out in this album and make you love them. The simplicity and singability makes this album a sure thing. 3: Appetite for Destruction(Guns 'n' Roses)...This album took my breath away when I first heard it. The heaviness of the bass and guitars mixed with Axl's screeching and then strong vocals made this album an absolute metal classic and one that the roses were never able to better. This album contains the brilliant "Welcome to the Jungle", "Sweet child of mine" and "Paradise city", now all considered pure metal genius. 4: Talk on Corners(The Corrs)...Possibly the best album by the Corrs. The mix of music on this album shows the capaility of the band going from "What can I do" to the fabulous "Queen of Hollywood". The album shows that the band never forget their roots while making good pop music. Andrea's vocals, Sharon's Violin skills and the rest of the band blend perfectly to make a brilliant easy listening album. 5: Gold against the soul(Manic Street
Preachers)...The cynicism and the truthfulness of the manics made this album an absolute must for any CD collection, my personal favourite track being "Roses in the hospital". The album was like no other at the time and signified the start of the rise of the manics. 6: How to make friends and influence people(Terrorvision)...Feelgood factor coming up. This album is full of bouncy music making it the worst possible album to listen to when you have a hangover, but brilliant for the party the night before. Contains the superb "Oblivion" and the doowops that come with it. 7: Nevermind(Nirvana)...The kings of grunge, the allowance to wear checky shirts and not brush your hair, well anyway this album is still fresh each time you play it and is good to chill out to. 8: The Joshua Tree(U2)...A hard decision here as any U2 album would be in my top ten, they are all brilliant but I think that "the tree" just edges it here. Great album to listen to before you go out on the town. Love the thing. 9: Slippery when Wet(Bon Jovi)...This album marked the beginning og Bon Jovi's success in the UK. Their third album, it's their strongest and shows the diversity of, at the time, a brilliant band. Better than any of their later offerings it still remains a regular on my CD player. 10. What's the story(Oasis)...Again a class album that marked the success of the mancunian superstars. The likes of "Wonderwall" and "She's electric" made this album what it is...great. I have had so much trouble narrowing my favourites down to 10 and they will have possibly changed by tommorrow but these albums seem to me to be forever appearing on my stereo.

- 15/01/02 there you go, but you see what you like would be in your top ten, what I like is in mine, therefore as I like various different types of music that is why my top ten is so different from yours. |
