Advantages: Some ideas

Disadvantages: They're mine

Rather than do a top 10 I singles, Id like to propose 10 tracks that people might not of heard of and that I have really loved over the years.

If you dont own these songs, find them, buy them, steal them, whatever, I hope you like them.

Ive deliberately tried to choose less well known tracks so people have something new to go for. Im not trying the old it must be good cause no-ones heard of it trick. Most of the music I like is fairly mainstream pop, rock but here are a few tracks I have tested out on my mates over the years and they all got a thumbs up from at least half.

Daisy Chain - The Frank and Walters.
This is a B'side and an Album track and its my favourite song of all time.

Mersey Paradise - The Stone Roses.
Just in case there are still some people left in this world who have settled for the first LP and nothing more, then go and get this track. It stands alongside all the material on the first LP and is possible the most euphoric stone roses track.

She's my Ex - All.
Now heres a song. I got it on a compilation from a mate and I bought the bands entire back catalogue on the strength of this one track. ITs hardcore american thrashy metal. I absolutely hate thrashy metal but this song is fantastic and so is about 25% of All's matieral. The other 75% is possibly the worst noise ever recorded.

I am the Greatest - A house
Could have also chosen Endless Art here by the same band. Irish pop rock. Great singer.

Crank - Catherine Wheel
A lot of people may know this. Those of you who dont, wont be dissapointed

Lean on me - The Redskins
If the supreemes had been three steel workers from communist russia they would have sounded like this. Thats what the review said at the time. I'd recommend every track this band ever recorded to be honest. Go treat yourselves.

Too Much Kissing - Senseless things.
A classic but surprising h
ow many people missed it.

Behind the Wall of Sleep - The Smithereens
Ive not heard any of their other stuff. But I love this song. Taped it by accident off the radio once and got it off napster years later. I think this will be the next record I buy.

Good For Nothing - Stiff Little Fingers
Its a pop record by a punk band who sold out. What more could you ask for. Jake Burns is an amazing singer and he never sounded better.

Time After Time - Live around the world. Miles Davis.
I dont like Jazz. But my dad does. Time after time by miles was our compromise track. I like the Cyndi Lauper song but Miles' version was something else. I dont get Jazz but I do get this. Then I tried a live version on napster. I bought the CD immediately. This is the most touching piece of music I have ever heard. Just the intro does it. It lasts forever and is still not long enough. Ive never played the other tracks on the CD. Funny how thats the way soemtimes.

Thats my ten. I hope I start a trend with these recommendations.

I hope people recommend their ideas.

Id also welcome any comments about mine.

Enjoy

I know all of these except I haven't heard the last two. Interesting idea, I might do one myself! : )

Mersey Paradise is hardly unknown. I hate TFAW and A House.

Ohhh The Frank and Walters are brilliant! A House aren't bad either.
