Advantages: my songs!
Disadvantages: i don't know
I wroted down a lot of reviews about my favourite albums, but I have just decided to write up a list of my 6 (I haven't 10 fave songs..) favourite songs. LET'S BEGIN FROM HERE: 6 She - Elvis Costello It is the soundtrack to the romantic comedy "Notting Hill". I think the Charles Aznavour cover is the best piece of music ever written for a film. It is a very romantic and slow song. In this song, you can see that Aznavour was a real poet, with very deep lyrics which came from the bottom of his heart. But you have to consider Costello's voice in this song. A wonderful voice with a great vocal extension. Every word he says, he takes my breath away. A track that you can listen in a confortable bed, in the shadows of evening. He describes her woman like that: "She may be the face I can't forget The trace of pleasure or regret Maybe my treasure or the prize I have to pay She may be the song that summer sings Maybe the children autumn brings Maybe a hundred different things Within the measure of a day" 5 Mama - Spice Girls It is the 4th single from "Spice". It was released as a double single with "Who do you think you are?". This song is about mother-child relationship and it is a tribute to mums. A lot of teenagers can be reflected in this song. "My mother and I don't communicate" or "She doesn't understand my problems" and "She doesn't give plenty of freedom to me" are the usual comments. But after that rebellious teenage stage we tell "She loves me, she was only doing it for my own good". In fact, they sing: "She used to be my only enemy and never let me free, Catching me in places that I know I shouldn't be, Every other day I crossed the line, I didn't mean to be so bad, I never thought you would become the friend I never had"
r><br>It gives you food for thought. This pop song is very sweet and catchy thanks to Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm's voices. 4 L'Incontro - Andrea Bocelli & Bono (from U2) It is a song from Bocelli's "Cieli di Toscana". I think it's one of the best song. It's about the bond between a father and his child. Lyrics are touching and very sweet and I love when Bono , fom the rock group U2, starts with soliloquy: While like a giant - proud and happy / I take my baby in my arms / Fragile, innocent and alive And like a little bird he?s / Pushing against my chest / Abandoned quiet and safe For an instant almost sweetly / My destiny appears to me like a dream / And I see myself, old and surrendered, Seated there near the coalfire / Waiting for the evening with / the anxiety of a child, Just to see him coming back home / With the gift of his smile / Of his words and kindness It?s like a promise that can / solve the enormous joy / Of one of his caresses. Then I wake up and I?ve already forgotten / But inside of me the kid?s trapped / soul advises me That this new born child is already more important to me than that of my own life. I heard this song for the first time on TV, during a TV program called "Saranno Famosi" ("Fame") and I fell in love with it at once. The softness of Bocelli's voice stucked me. I knew Bocelli's voice was poweful but his songs are always boring. This song is an exception to the rule. 3 Never Too Far - Mariah Carey I love Mariah's songs. I have always liked them. But this track is special because you can hear Mariah's voice out. Her voice is powerful, deep, touching and relaxing. It is the 2nd single from Mariah Carey's "Glitter". The first time I heard it I was in tears. It is about love, as you can see: What we had transcends This experience Too painful to talk about So I?
ll hold it in Til my heart can mend And be brave enough to love again The melody is a bit repetitive but this song is damn good. When you listen to it, you can withdraw into oneself. 2 Where Did Our Love Go? - Diana Ross & The Supremes I listened this song for the first time in 1998, at Spice Girls' concert, in Milan. Emma Bunton sang this song and I didn't know that it was a Diana Ross' song. After two years I tried to get this song with Napster and I found "Diana Ross & The Supremes - Where Did Our Love Go?" and I got it. Diana Ross' voice is fantastic and sweet. This pop-song is very catchy and danceable and it is about an old love, a lost love, in fact she sings: Ooh, baby, baby Where did our love go? Ooh, don't you want me Don't you want me no more Ooh, baby Lyrics and the background music are simply but I like it because it cheer up. I think you can listen to it during a party. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST.... 1 Northern Star - Melanie C It is the 2nd single from Melanie C's "Northern Star". This song is very slow but at the same time relaxing. I love this song because It helped me in a down period of my life and it maked me think about myself. Melanie C's voice is sweet , powerful and fascinanting. A track that you can listen when you are lonley, sad and confused. It is a pop ballad that makes you think about life, relationships and friendship. You can listen to it at full volume in a empty room. She sings: "I have learnt my lesson well The truth is out there I can tell Don't look back and don't succumb to their lies and goodbyes Live your life without regret Don't be someone who they forget When you're lost reach out for me And you'll see she's not far Northern star"
