I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel a lot, mainly recreationally. Most of the places that I get to visit are places that I have chosen to go to myself and so far, almost all of the places have been up to scratch and even better that I assumed they would of been when I was booking them. Glancing through the glossy travel brochures brings back those fantastic memories of swimming in the sea, sunbathing on the white sandy beaches and in the winter editions even skiing in the Alps. Watching those 'wish you were here...' holiday programmes on the television make you just want to be in those places - that instant. I know that this category is ... Read the complete review

I'm sorry if you think this is in the wrong category, but some of my travels have been in the Winter Sun period.Afterall it's my favourite topic besides beauty products that is. The title is just made up by the way, I'm not really going to Barbados, just Tenerife in March. I work in the travel business but only book boating holidays for people who want a canal holiday or a cruiser in the Norfolk broads. I just sit there and dream of faraway places, anywhere in the sun. I don't go particularly brown but I do love the feel of the sun on my face. In the winter months along with thousands of others, I'm sure I get SAD syndrome. So last Friday ... Compared to quite a lot of people, I really like winter. Don’t get me wrong- Summer is great, but when its hot and sticky, you don’t get the chance to just laze in front of the TV in really comfy, baggy clothes with a cup of tea. I know it’s a hassle when its get dark about practically an hour after it gets light, but after months of summer partying and staying out late, I think its nice to have a few months to cool down and relax (unless of course at school). Winter holidays are by far the best. You know the stage when the weather’s really cold, but its not quite snowing, so its just grey, and dull?…how nice is it to be ... Read the complete review

If you're incurably infected, like me, with the travel bug, then a random spin of that globe on your desk [yes, we do all fall for these cliches when we can't have the real thing!] will take you the top 10 Winter destinations -- any 10 really, as long as it's away from home! But if I REALLY had to choose, for some insane reason (possible and welcome reasons: someone offers me an all-expenses-paid trip; I win a holiday off a cereal pack; dooyoo decides to reward its contributors with a cruise), then these would today be my Top 10 Winter Destinations, in no particular order of preference. 1. SAVANNAH, GEORGIA (USA) Ever since ... Read the complete review

OK you may feel like me that summers have disappeared from the UK all together! This is my top 10 to escape to the sun in the "traditional" winter period 1. The Caribbean used to be the preserve of the rich. Although not all areas are reasonable, the Dominican Republic is. There are some good all inclusive late deals and if you read up before you book you'll find something that matches your desires. 2. Egypt is not just about Cairo and the pyramids. If you are after sun and sea go to Sharm or one of the quieter coastal resorts. You can still sightsee - Luxor is nearby. A more expensive option is Jordan 3. Mexico is in vogue at the ...
