The following are the top five animals to have as pets, in my opinion. I know a lot of people may disagree and this is just my opinion. If I could, I would have 10 of every animal as a pet. Apart from horse flies. I'm allergic to those. Hehe.

5. Rabbit/guinea pig/hamster
They don't really do a whole lot but they're nice to cuddle when you need something to cuddle or just to watch even. They're quite interesting to watch eating, actually. Although they often look at you like you're a total freak for watching them eat. But oh well. They can deal with that.

4. Fish
I know again they don't do much but they, too, can be pretty fun to watch. They just float around and stuff for most of the day but I've had goldfish that would swim upside down for fun before. Not because they had swimbladder problems or anything like that, just because they thought it was fun. They're really pretty weird little things and they're pretty fun too. They'll follow you around their tank and such too. Nice to watch them following you around the room.

3. Horses
They're really great pets because they can be ridden and used to jump with or to run real fast or, well, for all sorts of different things. And they'll eat right out of your hand. They do some pretty crazy things, like galloping around the field kicking and leaping and generally acting all crazy. My horse used to do that, before he was stolen. That's the only problem with them, they can be easily lead away and such.

2. Cats
I love cats. I have two of them myself and I'm hoping to get another kitten soon, once my puppy's a little older so he knows not to pounce on it. They dont play or do a whole lot in general but they're great for cuddling and stroking. And they're more independent than dogs which is often a bonus for people who work long hours.

1. Dogs
They're really loyal and will play all day long if you want them to. You can never get bored of having them around and thats what I like most about them. They need a lot of attention but they're really loyal as a result of that.
