Newest Review: ... delicate butterflies have to taste with their feet so not to interfere with the busy bees and that vital pollination. This vital life process may be it threat though. A mysterious bee virus in North America is threatening our very existence on earth as too many bees are dying from it so to maintain the food chains pollination rhythms. Scientist are fearful that it may be GM crops that have help create a manmade hybrid disease that seems to attack the bees directional radar. The snail is the laziest of the insect kingdom and able to sleep for up to three years if it so chooses. The poor old dragon fly gets just one day of life, stumbling aro... more

Crowned Review Top Ten Animals: Are Badgers real? (2231 words)

Off all the human-beings that have ever lived on the planet 12% are alive today, such is the rate of population explosion. 99% of animal species that have ever existed are now extinct. 95% of convicted animal abusers are animal and lovers. I think that tells you all you need to know what humans really think of sharing the planet with animals. We have a strange relationship with the beasts we are supposed to be caring for. The expression 'kick the cat' isn't just made up. If the animals are cute, we love them, if the animals are ugly, we eat them for Christmas. The Japanese fleet is looking to catch one thousand Minky whales in the Artic Ocean for 'research ...  Read the complete review

This review I wrote as my anniversary of a year on Ciao as something a bit different. Unfortunately pictures can't be posted on DooYoo, so you'll just have to go to the other side to see them! Having never done a top ten review before, I started thinking - I bet my top 10 animals (and reasons for picking them) are different from anyone else's! As you will see from my choices, it is not as simple as saying I prefer rabbits to rats because they are cuter and more fluffy (although incidentally I think that rabbits are more cute and fluffy than rats). In fact, some of the choices I will be forced to make might well be quite difficult for me...and I'm ...  Read the complete review

I am basing my top ten animals on animals I have always enjoyed watching. I am not including pets but animals that we would generally class as wild. 10. The Fox. These animals get either a good rap as either clever cunning animals or as a pest. Me I will always put them in the cunning sly animals. These animals have adapted to living in the city when most animals cant cope and leave. I live in the middle of a town and every night they come into our street. In fact we once put food in a dish for one of our cats when the fox came and shared the food with the cat and they did not bother each other. Obviously the cats being out at night they get ...  Read the complete review

I’ve always maintained that I’ll only ever work with children or animals. After a few weeks of teaching 27 children aged between four and five, the prospect of cleaning up exotic animal droppings is starting to seem rather appealing. As I watched a child pick their nose and eat it for the seven millionth time today, I began to seriously consider another job. Until I make the career move of cleaning out monkey crap, I thought I’d make a list of my favourite animals. Geese Geese are plucky little buggers. You would not want to double cross a goose, ever. If they suspect that you are about to run out of bread, they may attempt to feast on one of your ...  Read the complete review

I have taken a bit of a liberty with the subject of my op and changed it to top 10 animal stories, hope you don’t mind. Ferrets: One summer’s day I was sitting in my living room watching TV and eating chocolate (as you do) while the kids were playing outside. I heard a strange noise coming from the landing (we lived in an upstairs flat at the time) and the cat was doing her nut, hissing and howling, so being brave I went to investigate and found a ferret at the top of the stairs. No wonder the mog was hysterical. I chased it all over our flat and eventually cornered it and picked it up. So then it wee’d down my arm, anyone who has ever smelled a ferret ...  Read the complete review
