I love reading and generally enjoy most books so choosing my top ten authors is going to be tricky : - )
1. Virginia Andrews - She is by far the best author I have ever read, she wrote classics such as Flowers in the Attic and Heaven, she writes superbly and really stands out with her fantastic prose.
2. Jaqueline Wilson - I have read her books for years and love the way she deals with issues facing children evryday while writing a brilliant and captivating story at the same time.
3. Agatha Christie - I love her stories and the brilliant twists at the end, the books are so intelligently written, the best for me is "Then there were none".
4. James Herbett - His books are full of scares and tension and are well written, the best for me is "The ghosts of Sleath".
5. Stephen King - Like James Herbett his books are full of scares and are a great read.
6. Anthony Horowitz - He also writes some brilliant and original stories, my favourite was a collection of horror stories he once wrote.
7. Paul Jennings - His books are full of wit and humour and are so extraordinary that you can not help but laugh.
