Advantages: Reminded me how much I miss kids telly lol

Disadvantages: Reminded me how old I was :((((((((((((

I really loved T.V when I was growing up, but there really isn't many programmes now a days that I think can compete and yet we have far more programmes these days.
I hate Thomas The tank Engine as every day after school I had to sit with my younger brother and watch it, so now when it comes on I turn it over.

So here goes my top 10

Coming in at 10..................
Tiswaz
Saturday morning t.v veiwing.
Chris Tarrant was the host and was pretty funny back then doing this.
I can remember it being very colourful. They had all sorts of clips to the programme, like now a days.Prizes and plenty of gunge. I remember spit the dog and Bob (can't for the life of me think of his surname).

coming in at 9..................
Rainbow.
Who can forget Bungle, zippy and George and the great Geoffrey.
I never knew what Zippy actually was but he was a puppet, George was looking back now a feminine boy pig puppet, Bungle was a man in a teddy bear suit and Geoffrey well he was suppose to be human but who knows.
They sang songs with Rod, Jane and Freddie. It was all a bit gin gan goo lol.
I can remember Bungle wearing no clothes in the day time but always wore pyjamas for bed, ermmmmmmmmmmmm.

Coming in at 8.................
The Worst Witch.
This programme has been going for years, but its nothing like when I was a child.
Mildred Hubble if I remember rightly, a young girl as a witch just starting at her school for witches. It was a good programme, watch these school girls going through the things we were going through at school, difference being they were witches. Loved it!!!!!

Coming in at 7.................
Gummie Bears
This was on Sunday mornings, I think just before the Disney programme started. It was an American cartoon about Bears. They had lots of adventures, from getting lost in the forest to finding the jewel in the cave.

At 6....................
Biker Grove
I thought this programme was ACE!!!!!
But it turned into a nightmare for me.
About a group of kids and their youth club, day to day life. This is were PJ & Duncan started aca Ant & Dec. The nightmare for me was when we had our son I named him Paul-Jake and his surname is Duncan and yep you guessed it when he went to school he got the nickname PJ, so hence PJ & Duncan OMG.

At 5...............
Poddington Peas.
I still remember the song............. come on join in
Down at the bottom of the garden, among the birds and the bees, lives at lot of lovely people there called the Poddington Peas.
This was a cartoon on after school. It was in the village poddington and all the characters were Peas, Yep Peas.

At 4....................
Children's ward.
Another programme after school. I would have to say it was like a children's version of casualty or Holby. A group of children in hospital with problems, ages sort of between 8 and 15. A lot of the actors ended up being starts of our soaps these days. I can remember with this programme it was quite funny, they use to wind the nurses up, have secret snogs.

At 3......................
Ragie Doll
This was a cartoon programme and it was fab, about a factory that made toys and the ones that were made wrong, got thrown down the shoot and that's were ragie doll lived with all her friends, they loved to have adventures. My favourite was Sad Sack.

At 2....................
Fraggle Rock
Dance ya cares away, worries for another day, let the music play down in fraggle rock lol.
This programme followed me a life time, because there was a character puppet named RED, she had curly red hair and wore it in bunches, well my hair is curly and I use to have it Red and for a joke wore it in pigtails, and then the nickname came and never went, RED!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a puppet, programme based in an under ground place under the light house, the programme was a bit mad, but such fun. If I remember rightly it was on, on Sunday mornings.

AND AT NUMBER ONE AS TO BE ( drum roll)........................
THE MUPPET SHOW
Yay, what a show, All puppets, but with real celeb guests.
Miss Piggy, Kermit The Frog, Gonzo, fozzy Bear, Rizzo and my favourite Animal. He loved playing the drums and was very mad. This programme made me laugh and entertained me right through till it stopped. It was my all time favourite programme. I have all the films they have brought out and love watching the christmas carol at Christmas with my children.

So there you have it my top 10 Favourites past and present, but as you will notice they are all past programmes. I loved T.V back then.

Summary: Great kids programmes from my past.

Great Review - It's Bob Carolges or however you spell it with Spit the Dog on Tiswas. I remember doing the dying fly in my sitting room. And as for the muppets - I have to say 3 words. Pigs in Space!

Suppose you are too young to remember Muffin the Mule, who celebrated his 60th birthday this week!
